Years ago when this started didn’t they have all games one after the other with no two games playing at the same time? (Quadruple header) I may remember that wrong, or maybe it was just pre-Winterpeg.

I know they had triple-headers before the Thrashers moved to Winnipeg. I don't think ‘Hockey Day’ was a thing yet when the Nordiques and the original Jets were around, and I'm certain they never had quadruple headers back then.
I think the quadruple-header arose after the new Jets came in.
