It was nice to see Gridin have a good first game after being recalled. He looked dangerous at times, blocked a shot, and also showed good judgement by making some simple safe plays.
It's obviously just his fifth NHL game and first since October, but if this is who he is, the kid looks ready.

Flames fans have never been great at that stuff, as many fan bases aren't. Montreal, Edmonton, New York, Chicago etc. There's a few special places for stuff like this, but most are just cookie cutter, come to the game, drink beers, entertain clients and have an outing fanbases, that's where we fall.

… this wasn’t going to be different in any other building in the league for a player from any other team. A handful of die hard rumour obsessed fans would be aware of it, and most of the building wouldn’t.

I don't think a lot of the casuals in Calgary even know Ras is getting traded, and most certainly aren't F5ing CP.

I mentioned how much they play down to competition the night of the Preds loss, received bit of flack for my thoughts, and to be fair Nashville was 7-3 going into it. Since then they've found ways to beat the Wild (Sorokin) and Oilers (Again, Sorokin) but lose to the Jets and Flames. Not very confident about the Canucks game coming up.
Are the Isles a team that plays up and down to competition or is it that every crappy team they play all of a sudden get hot when they play the Islanders? Make it make sense? Because these Isles swept three from Tampa, 2 of 3 from Detroit and every good team in the west from the Avs, Stars and Wild to the Knights and Oilers. With today being a matinee game I prayed that they wouldn't pull a stinker and they did.
