And that's why we need ras to greenlight an extension somewhere that isn't Vegas.

Even Rasmus is probably thinking about how Vegas is an inevitable destination if he goes anywhere as a UFA. So I bet he isnt going to make it easy to get that extension done with another suitor.

I am sure these guys have probably talked to each other since they ended up in Boston before they were also interested in acquiring Andersson. The possible downside is that if they don't love it there or complained about the team or management at any point. Knowing guys there could be a deterrent in that case. I am not saying they did or anything, but if Andersson has two friends playing there and isn't convinced he wants to play there, it does make me wonder. Or maybe they just aren't close friends who talk about that kind of stuff, who knows.

I think players do generally like Boston as a city, but I wonder if the current situation and competitive state of the team is an issue. They aren't a "great" team at the moment and committing what could be the rest of your playing career there might be a harder sell.

For sure but at that point the Flames aren’t getting anything more than the rental return. But yes he could absolutely fall in love with his new place and sign long term.

That said, he was ready to call Vegas home last summer and has seen all the cities in the league several times over. I genuinely believe he has made up his mind

I think we are violently agreeing. They cannot put together the best offer and it is silly that the media keeps their name in the mix.

They should start saying things like:
"Vegas really wants Andersson but have nothing to give"
"Vegas really wants Andersson but it would be foolish for the Flames to trade with them while holding their 1st"
"Vegas keeps telling us they are in on this bidding war but every other team in the mix has better offers"
"Vegas and Leafs have created a support group for teams who want to be in on every big trade but have nothing to offer"
