What is the return difference between a rental and a signed Ras?
I think just the quality of the prospect
Ras should return at least a 1st as a rental

I see no benefit to trading Rasmus to Vegas unless we are getting 3 more first rounders. Not only would you be helping them this season, thus hurting your pick this year, you’re also helping them for the future as well.

In case it drops significantly from RA's performance.
Then we'd have their 2027 1st and 2028 1st unprotected.

Nobody's ever going to do that.

With multiple teams in it at this stage and others dropping out, it kinda suggests that there was a bidding war to some point where some teams dropped out and others remained because they were willing to try and match the offers from the other teams. This is a very good thing. I'm pretty confident that Conroy has a deal he likes a lot, though it doesn't mean it's a deal that CP will like a lot. I'm happy though assuming Conroy likes it, as I trust him and his pro scouts way more in their valuations!

Well, Vegas might have to if they're going to want Rasmus. Plenty of bidders, put your best offer forward. There are better suitors out there anyway.

Agreed. This should mean there is progress with a couple of teams. Would think it will get done soon.

Honestly can't keep up with all the speculation at this point. Has a potential trade ever generation this many posts on CP? Tapping out until something is concrete.

We are nearing a year without a substantial player move. In a rebuilding phase. We are dying for movement

I have never seen Vegas prospect Wozniak play that said if people see his ceiling as 3rd line center it may actually be higher. He has had 20 points in 21 games so far in same league Mikael Backlund had 13 points in 37 games in the year following his draft. I don’t like helping Vegas either but depending on rest of offer it may be a really good deal for Calgary

Normally I'd feel good about it but I worry it has more to do with extension destinations than a bidding war.
Of course, I'm a pessimist.

FYP.
Many of us are patient, letting Conny do what he's paid professionally to do....which is not cater to CP's whims (like it or not).

Knowing nothing about the player mentioned in the Vegas offer, but wouldn't trading him as a rental beat two second round picks?

Trevor Connelly seems like a stud prospect actually. It’d need to include him.

All of the other rumored offers seem way better than that one to me.
