Last night it sounded like it was done to Boston from what I had heard.

But seems like the extension could throwing a wrench into things.

Does feel to me like it's Boston and Detroit as the two really battling to get this done.

Will be interesting to see if either take the risk to make a deal without an extension, with the hope you can convince him to stay once he's there.

Bergeron is a number 3 when building a roster from the best players ever.

His first year in the AHL wasn’t great but you don’t have to dominate that first year in order to become a top 6 player. Some guys just take longer to adjust.
Is that supposed to be a bad thing? A guy with a 15 year career as a dependable 3rd line center is pretty valuable.

That’s really what we did with Backlund and Lindholm with MT and JG riding shotgun

It didn’t and doesn’t work

But as your 2/3 guys it’s a great foundation . Nothing wrong with that . You just need to find the #1

No they don't but he was a 2nd round pick and was never the flasky offensive player. Bit early to say Reschny and Danielson can't be a 1-2

I am going to the game tomorrow... sounds like I won't be seeing Andersson lace them up for the flaming C one more time...

No the best thing we can do is immediately compare them to hall of famers vs having a discussion on what is a probable development path

What are you talking about?
It ABSOLUTELY worked. The tkachuk-lindy-Johnny was the undisputed best line in the league that season. Prior to that season, Gaudreau-Monahan-Lindy was among the best.

We lost the edmonton series due to poor goal tending and (IMO) aging defense that got run over.

It worked so well that Lindy got us 1c rental package from Vancouver off the back of that season's reputation lol.

Anyone can be 1-2. Heck maybe it’s the guys we draft in the 2nd and 3rd round this year .

Those 2 guys just project more then likely if things work out as a solid 2 and a solid 3 centre

It can be a good return as a #3 Center for the next decade playing a defensive shutdown type role - especially with the size - I just see the odds of a contender #2 Center low from where his development is

How about that mushy middle though eh? Surely we can all agree that such excellence would be reached by that 1 - 2.

We won 1 playoff series during their tenure

I don’t call that working. Call it what you will

I don't think it's crazy for one of them to hit Krejci, RoR or even Toews levels.

You don't need 100+pt center to win. If McKenna or Stenberg become supersar wingers and Reschny/Danielson could be 60pt+ 2-way guys, that can work.

They have to trade him now, CP has already made the “Thank you Ras” thread

Everyone knew Bergeron was a bonafide #1 center and future hall of famer. That’s why he was chosen was the highly regarded 45th overall pick.

It’s more than good enough but the Flames are desperate for a top 6 center

People are hoping to get that for Andersson

It’s very unlikely, their best bet to get a top 6 center is the tank

That sounds like an extension has been agreed upon, assuming the front runner is the one with the best offer. We've finally got ourselves an auction, and it likely got rolling ever since Quinn Hughes was dealt.

Conroy has handled this with absolute class, and Ras has been awesome in the process too. Hope he wins a cup and gets PAID.

I feel optimistic about the potential return, because the following factors suggest teams are bidding against each other:

First, the length of time reporters have stated the Rasmus Andersson trade conversations have been intense;

Second, the number of teams rumored to have been in on the trade conversations; and

Third, the rumored returns.

NO cup for him if he gets traded to Vegas!
