Jimmy Kimmel promised to give Donald Trump one of his many notable awards, but only if the president pulled ICE out of Minneapolis.

I don't know why anyone is surprised or disappointed in these guys.
They are white, uneducated, male millionaires. This is the hardest core demographic for Trump. They LOVE this guy, and want to BE this guy.
That is who they are. Classic Bros.
Enjoy their hockey. Celebrate the ones that work in the community. Don't worship them as humans.

Except what did Trump and his party do after they won? They turned around and made the exact same mistake, misreading the meaning of a modest victory, embarking on an anti-intellectual purge instead of actually reforming anything. In some ways, Trump’s cultural uprising is the dark, bizarro-world image of what preceded him. His version of thought-policing takes aim at foreign-born citizens and vaccine scientists. His notion of identity-based grievance is about the persecution of white America.
The uprising may be effective, but it’s never been popular. According to Gallup, Trump’s approval rating was at 47 percent when he took office in January — decidedly underwhelming for a newly elected president. From there, the trend line looks like a beginner’s ski slope. In December, Trump bottomed out at about 36 percent approval, which, given Trump’s unshakable support among 25 or 30 percent of the electorate, is probably about as low as it can get.
When voters finally had the chance to weigh in on Trump’s first year, during November’s off-year elections, the results were stunning and unambiguous. Republicans didn’t just lose the governors’ races in New Jersey and Virginia, they lost down-ballot races in Mississippi and Georgia, too. Nothing suggests a turnaround is imminent. It’s not like Trump’s getting more popular as his imperialist foreign policy starts to resemble an #adolescent game of Risk. (“You take Greenland; I’ll attack Kamchatka.”) It’s not like he’s going to fall asleep any less in public as the months grind on.

I dunno. Maybe I’m extreme. But I prefer not to support hockey players, sports figures or celebrities who are Nazis.

That's the thing. These people in power only have power because others wilfully hand it over to them. Helping fund and support the people that give monsters power, just because you like the game they play is also helping the monsters. And it's not about being morally righteous about everything, but recognizing when something is so gross it "makes the list" is a reasonable mental exercise to do. Dressing up as Trump and praising him should be far enough down the road to not want to continue "enjoying their hockey".

At this point I don't think there's a realistic possibility that midterms are canceled or postponed, but I do think there's a likelihood that the tactic of deploying thugs to areas inclined to vote Democratic increases over the course of the months leading up to those midterms, including the potential use of the insurrection act, to keep as many people from voting as possible - while at the same time intimidating people going to the polls.
Would anyone be surprised if ICE sent agents to every polling station demanding that everyone standing in line waiting to vote produce documents proving they're an American citizen before they can go in and vote? They can even justify it (to their base) with the usual concerns about voter fraud - after all, we don't want illegal immigrants voting, do we?
That, IMO, is the plan to hang on to power this year. Next year it'll be, wherever Democrats did unseat republicans, to return to allegations of voter fraud and refusing to seat elected officials as they did with Adelita Grijalva.

Given the demographic of most of these meatheads, you're not going to watching much pro sports I guess.

They don't have enough agents to do that. They can pick a city here or there like they are right now, but to do that across the country on a single day in a sustained manner? No chance.

sorry. British reporter challenges her regarding ICE and the killing of Renee Good, she asks the journalist what he thinks about the killing of Renee Good, journalist answers that an ICE agent reacted recklessly, she goes on a pathetic rant about biased left wing hacks who pose as journalists, about illigeal immigrants, Lincoln Riley and so on.

Haha, Trump now threatening to slap tariffs on any country that doesn't support his goal of acquiring Greenland. His stupid tariff threats are getting really old at this point. I'm sure most countries now are basically like "go ahead, dips***."
Also, it's pretty obvious that he still doesn't understand how tariffs work, and that he thinks it's the other country that pays the tax.

but here's the thing... you can't vote if you are not american.
from the us gov webpage....

sooooo.... why bother lining up to vote if you don't have the documentation to prove you are allowed to vote? you have to show the documentation to the election official to be allowed to vote - no need for the "dude-bros" outside - it's just so stupid

Reporter specifically says 32 people died while in ICE custody.
170 Americans were detained illegally
and Renee Good was shot in the head.
How can you say they are doing everything right?
She said, I bet you didn't bother to look up how many people were killed by illegals. Then asked why Renee Good died.
The report said because an ICE officer acted recklessly.
She said he was a bias left wing blah blah blah that didn't deserve to sit there.
And she did not give him a chance to reply that the best proxies they have suggest the average US citizen killed 4x the people the average undocumented person did so ~300 out of around 18,000. Suggesting they killed 32 people in service of making the country less safe on average. She didn't let him say it, so I am putting words in his mouth there, but I'm actually confident that's what he wanted to say.

Well here is the thing you are missing, they can just stand there, find a Mexican looking person, ask him for papers, and the pretend they feel threatened while he pulls the papers out, then throw him on the ground and cuff him , then beat the #### out him (while all of the other 'mexican looking people' watch), then detain him until the polls are closed, then tell a bunch of people they are next until those people stoop trying to vote. Then report that a coordinated effort by domestic terrorists to disrupt security in polling lines was successful / thwarted depending on the results of the election of course.

There would be an emergency injunction slapped on that behaviour within thirty minutes, maybe less in a blue state.

This is false. In most blue states, like Minnesota, as long as you're properly registered to vote, you do not need to "show the documentation to the election official", because they don't have voter ID laws. Even in states that do, what qualifies as "ID" for voting purposes is a much lower standard than what you'd need to prove you're a U.S. Citizen.
A ton of people don't have proper ID, and most of them are some combination of lower income, urban residents (where you don't need a car and therefore don't need a driver's license), or minorities. Hence why the GOP is always the party pushing the idea of "voter fraud" and the need for voter ID to vote - it's not actually about ensuring that people who can't vote don't vote, it's about making it harder to vote for the groups of people who are likely to vote against you.
I thought this was all common knowledge at this point.
