^ I didn't watch it but apparently Chucky fawned over Trump and said meeting him was better than winning both cups.
Chucky is a gaslighter at the best of times but FFS.
EDIT: confirmed by others in the other thread.

I hope Matt gets roasted every time he touches the puck in Canada. Always suspected he was a goof.

In the last election, 18-29 year old white men strongly favoured Trump over Harris by 63 to 35 per cent.
Given the demographics, most American NHLers are likely Trump supporters.

They are white millionaire athletes who come from well off families and have no concept of actual struggle or injustice. Hockey players are probably the most conservative when compared to other sports.

Especially bro-dudes like Tkachuk. I thought he might be smarter though. When he first came in I thought he had intelligence. But everything he does is just off-putting and self-centred to me.
Edit: I'm surprised all the Euros and Canadians don't affect the Americans in any way.

"With one handshake, Bennett, the MVP of the playoffs, left a particularly strong impression.
"He's got a very powerful hand," the President remarked, earning a laugh from the crowd."
I hope Bennett did that on purpose. He at least isn't smiling in that pic.

Whoever it is - I watched the video and he kind of just has resting frown-face. He did smile a few times. Some others didn't though.

I'd put money on a majority of those young voters being easily conned by his con man words, and also had no idea - or interest in finding out - about who that draft-dodging, convicted felon pedophile rapist actually was in his past. A person so bad at being a businessman he managed to fail in the casino business - a place where people come in, drop off their money, and then leave.
He (and his motley crew of misfits) appeals to people who do not value education, critical thinking, empathy or integrity. Wouldn't be surprised if there's a ton of those types in the sports world.

Rich white man admires Trump? Not overly surprising. He's a great hockey player but one of the biggest meatheads in the league. As a Canadian I would have a hard time attending given the way that government has treated Canada.

#### Chucky.
He was always a slimy Weasle.
Not sure why some many gave him a pass whe he forced his way out as an RFA, almost no other players do that

Some teams and athletes have refused to go.
We should not be surprised that some or even a lot of NHL players would support him, but it is still OK to be disappointed by it, and then seeing Tkachuk fawn over him just adds to it.
Just because a lot of NHLer support him, doesn't mean that's a good thing. Not sure what Cliff's point really was.
