I will miss Rasmus if this is true. Excited for the return, but he is one of only a couple Flames we still had on the roster from our last playoff run.

The part that makes me a bit sad is that once Coleman and Andersson are done the last link to Johnny in this roster will be Backlund.

Stuff like seeing Ras with his kids at practice this week makes a trade a little more bitter sweet TBH.

In different world maybe Johnny and Ras are both still Flames.

Appreciate Ras keeping it professional all year and bringing the same intensity on the ice every game. Will always be a fan of his. Sucks the timeline just did not fit.

The timing of this trade is by design, I’m led to believe Ras camp asked to wait till the end of the trip because of the additional time in CBJ. Yes Ras has been selective but he’s also done good by the flames having an exceptional season, something both sides wanted despite the outcome.

I believe contract negotiations continued right up until the Christmas break. Sides couldn’t reach and agreement. Two did not tango on term…dollars was fine.

Latest news is I don’t know if we will get a Rasmus send off on Saturday afternoon. Strong possibility he could be healthy scratched if not already delt by game time. Things have been close for 24-36 hours.
