What an insane contract. Glad they didn't sign that.

Yeesh. $60M a year, though I am sure it’s got the Shohei deferral.
Collect $120MM over two years, can’t imagine how much motivation he will have after that.

The Jays had them and let them off the hook, and now they just keep adding

A $60 million AAV will put the Dodgers at basically a $400 million luxury tax payroll.

Dodgers are at 110% tax for overage .
That means Tucker will cost them $130 million a year with tax ??….

Can't even blame the Jays, if they're offering huge money on a long term deal they still can't beat that deal by the Dodgers. Only so much you can do.
The Jays still have had a really good offseason. Great pitching staff, very deep lineup. I doubt they'll get Bo back, sounds like he's going to the Phillies or something. They can still start the season with what they have today and make trades during the season if they need an extra bat or something else. It's just lame that the Dodgers can seemingly continue to sign almost anyone they want.

Ohtani pitches, hits and sells tickets whereas Tucker has been hurt alot and has yet to play well in the playoffs. What a crazy amount of money for this player.
Still Jays have highest payroll in the AL so fans can’t really complain about how unfair it all is.

It's criminal what the Dodgers are able to get away with salary cap wise. Any self-respecting pro sports league would prevent this kind of thing from happening.

Another $70 million into the luxury tax pool for owners to pocket ! Why would they care . Most teams don’t even try and just pocket $$$$

The Dodgers aren't an embarrassment to the sport. They're putting money in. They are the premier villain though with that super high spending.
Anyway, I really hated Framber Valdez this year for his "mixup" beaning his catcher, but perhaps Jays can go the route of assembling a super pitching lineup by getting him.

Kyle ####ing Tucker at 60 million a year is insane. Im personally glad the Jays didnt land Tucker because I think he has Rendon's give no ####s attitude. The Dodgers are gross and are ruining the sport. Jays were so close to slaying that pos franchise last season too. GRRRR.

Sure can. Jays haven't done anything comparable to the Ohtani contract. Jays situation isn't comparable to Dodgers.

As frustrating as the NHL salary cap can be when you are a contender in the NHL, I will take it over this kind of garbage where you have a super rich team being able to buy championships. Gross.

Jays tried to sign Ohtani, and Yamamoto, and Soto, and Tucker and so on. Jays fans should be happy they have owners who want to win right now, speaking of the Yankees we currently live in a society where the Jays want to win more than the Yankees. Funny ####. Yeah MLB should probably do something, but I can't blame the Dodgers owners for wanting to win.
