He's been super effective but I'm still fine with Ranger Suarez getting $26MM per for 5 years from an AL East team. I don't doubt teams will struggle initially but I wouldn't bet on that repertoire aging all that well.

Yeah. The Jays are go to have some dead money in the mid to late 2030s as it is (unless you think Vladdy is going to be worth $40MM in his 40 year old season). Tacking on some more dead money then to win now doesn't seem like that big a problem to me.

If there’s anything to that he wants to play closer to home in Florida, the Jays have the edge.
My gut says the Jays finally get their guy and everyone will be left to debate if they paid too much.

This time though, I won't have my soul crushed if we don't get him. We've already had an A+ offseason...this would be the cherry on top.

And so it begins.
I think I'm probably more bearish than most on Tucker. Obviously he would be an upgrade but I think the term and dollars are going to be massive for a dude who's shown some signs of regression already and will be on his 3rd team in 3 years.
Sentimentally I would still like the Jays to sign Bo over anyone else. Part of what made last year so special was the clubhouse and you could tell those dudes all loved each other. If they're bringing in like 6 new faces and have a disgruntled Berrios to deal with that could put ripples in that room.
