Yet they have played guys like Kuz and Bru regularly. Though I suspect Bru will go down when Zayne is ready to return.
Dryden Hunt has played 2 games so far. Is that a healthy dose?
Kuz has played in more games that Pachal. Basically took his job.

I love when Hunt gets recalled to basically eat popcorn. Let the grievances begin!

There's a balance to be struck, but man oh man it's so hard to justify the inability or unwillingness of this franchise to change.

Why do we have to be so lazy about this stuff?
Two rookie D in the top six.
Another started the year at 19
A 19 year old forward made the team out of camp.
20 year old forward landed a job on the shut down line.
7-8 rookies with games this year.
To say Huska isn't working youth into the lineup is just blindly incorrect.

Lol this is my feeling too.
Do I want to see Gridin and Parekh play? Definitely.
Does Huska's 1990s Devils trap system put them in a position to succeed? No.

Ownership is stuck in the 80's, just look at the music they play at the dome.

It's not a trap system, it's the absence of any elite offensive skill anywhere on the team.
You can't hold back offensive skill that you don't have.

Absolutely. It's giving a good soldier a few extra bucks for a few days, I'm sure Hunt is appreciative.

My post was mostly tongue in cheek.
I realize Hunt particularly has come up mostly to eat popcorn. And no offense to the guy, but I hope that's how it remains.
With the season where it currently is, I think every game where Hunt or Kirkland line up instead of a Stromgren or Kerins is an opportunity lost (however small).

I have no real use for Kirkland. Even before his injury I didn't get it (except for the shoot outs). Now he's slower. It's too bad.
Hunt is plug n' play. Maybe he skates or maybe he eats popcorn. Not sure.
I'm also not particularly high on Bill or Kerins.
So it's a whole lotta meh to me.
For me the key is how the organization develops the forwards that I view as having more upside: Gridin, Basha, Honzek, Suniev, and then as Potter, Reschney turn pro. Right now I think we are in a relatively dead zone in terms of NHL ready forwards in the pipeline, outside of Gridin who seems on a faster track.

That's perfectly fine and more than likely they're both meh. I just want to scratch those lottery tickets instead of re-examining the scratched ones that didn't win. Especially now.

Yeah Kirkland has been pretty useless.. We never get to the shootouts so we don't get to see him there either and he does nothing on the 4th line..
What would ya say you do here??

Well Hunt has barely played (so far we'll see if that changes)
And Kirkland is a center, so Bill isn't really competing with him.
I get that some one Kerins to see more of a chance, but I don't think there's much value in seeing what he can do on the 4th.
With Kirkland, I'd like to see Morton get a longer look in that spot.

I suspect they like his FO ability. Though Morton has good numbers too.

Gridin was getting 14 minutes a game. He started to slip and instead of cutting his minutes they sent him back to the A to play more (and preserve a year of contract too). Parekh was getting regular shifts, with a game off there and there, and got hurt. He had more ATOI than Hanley, Pachal, Brzu (plus a whole bunch of forwards). Kerins has only had 2 games but he got long looks in those two - 15 minutes per game. You also forgot to mention Honzek, who is a rookie and was getting minutes on the Backlund line.
Stromgren's fancy stats are abnormally bad. Small sample size but wow. 32% Corsi (-16% relative), Fenwick is similar. 2nd worst on the team after Miromanov.
But the narrative must be maintained.
