I think when folks say things like a 'kings ransom' I think we've fallen in love with our own players a little too much.

No direct contact between Rasmus's camp and the acquiring team(s) camp until after the trade is "completed" (verbally). Though dialogue between Calgary and Rasmus will continue as he's willing to work with Craig to get a win/win for both sides in terms of teams he'd be willing to extend with.

The reporting was that Conroy wouldn't let teams talk to him unless all pieces were agreed to.

I mean, even Detroit is in 6th place, picking 26th in 2026 if it all ended today (and presumably they improve with Rasmus).
I'd actually be very happy with a Detroit 1st (26 or 27) and Danielson. Not a haul, but I'd very happy. The Dallas deal just feels, well, lesser.

I fully expect this to happen as I have been tied up all day with work and need to go out for dinner with the new boss tonight so it makes sense flames news I have been waiting for since just before the draft happens today

Dallas
Detroit
Washington

Are my guesses as to the final 3. Would love to see one of those east teams just match the price and say they’ll try and extend him later

Even Friedman and Seravalli were on the haul train.

He was really bad in the last game. Fumbled the puck on the powerplay at end of the game vs Sweden with like 20 seconds to go and then fumbled the shootout attempt where he didn’t even shoot it. I also don’t think he has much playmaking ability just by looking at his counting stats but hey I am no expert, just wasn’t impressed watching him at the WJC

Factoring in division winners, DAL is currently 5th and DET 7th, so not much difference. Also, DET has a realistic chance of winning their division and DAL doesn't. So the two are basically a coin flip right now, as far as the value of their 1st goes.

Today is indeed a great day for a Rasmus Andersson trade. #makeawish

Pick would be 2027 so this years standing has no bearing on Dallas -

I don't know the player at all it just seems like a ridiculously small sample size...I've seen bad shootout attempts by the top players in the league that is kinda irrelevant.

Or, different people are applying different scales to the term.

There was also something about "Conroy learning his lesson" after the Hanifin trade and allowing teams to get a sense of if he'd re-sign or not, and that he wouldn't make that mistake again.

Yeah, but I'm sure what we consider a haul and what they would consider a haul are different.
