I don't think you're in the minority. Just that the sickos on this board seem to want to cling on to every hollow victory and that they're content with the whole "whatever happens happens" type mantra.

This has to be one of the most unlikeable rosters ever assembled by the Flames and there have been some bad ones. This isn't a team, its just a bunch of random players assembled to play hockey. No core. No vision. Nothing.

‘Sickos’? Really?

A couple of posters have said they'll miss Rasmus Andersson when he's gone. You attack them as mentally ill. If there's a ‘sicko’ in this conversation, it's you.

They traded away the last core and haven't drafted most of the new core yet. What did you think would happen in between?

I disagree that the roster is unlikeable. Andersson, Backlund, Coleman, Cooley, and Weegar are eminently likeable. The roster is devoid of high-end talent, which you would expect in a rebuilding (officially "rebiggling") team that has been swapping vets for futures and prospects for several seasons and will likely bottom out next season. The vision is to build a new core through the draft and young prospects.

I actually don't see any unlikeable characters on the Flames now, compared to some of the more successful teams on the ice which had players with personalities that were off-putting to me.

What an ugly post. Calling people "sickos" for liking some players on the team they root for is awful.

6:21 for Stromgren is crazy work. At that point just play 7 D.

Really feel badly for the kid, don't think he's going to be anything special but there's been so little sample size that its hard to get a read on him at all. Couple nice flashes the last two games and then 0 usage.

Kind of feels like he's getting the Sutter treatment doesn't it.

GM wants to see him, coach doesn't want to play him or doesn't trust him.

Yea I agree, Huska's comments about him after the Habs game were pretty alarming to me. Paraphrasing but when asked about Stromgren he basically said, "yea good for him for making it to the NHL" and then changed the subject, doesnt exactly fill me with a ton of optimism.

That begs the question, who on the Flames did Sutter block who went on to prove themselves as a bonified NHLer?

Not saying Sutter did it all the time. But he did do it. The obvious one that comes to mind was when Sutter didn't want to play Phillips.

I AM NOT COMPARING STROMGREN TO PHILLIPS lol

Also, I'll note that it was the one time next time instead of referring to like its happened all the time.

But in regards to to the comments made by Huska after the game against Montreal, I noticed that too. Commented on it in the PGT. He just brushed past it.

Stromgren hasn’t been good. Not just “the 4th line is bad so how can he be good” bad, but Lomberg-Frost-Stromgren and Lomberg-Kirkland-Stromgren are two of the worst lines we’ve seen play more than a couple minutes this season.

Can’t blame the coach here when lines are getting shelled worse with him on it than off it. Doesn’t mean he can’t be better, but he’s going to have to be if he wants to stick around.

I am rooting for Stromgren too, but seriously, can anyone point to anything that he has done that would say this kid deserves more ice time?

No reason not to keep trying him out there, and maybe at some point he will start to show something. But so far, anyone who is more than whelmed, is relying on wishful thinking.

Hard to really get to your game when you're only getting 7-8 minutes. There isnt even enough time to make mistakes and learn from them.

I hear you, but the NHL isn't really the learn from your mistakes league. Occasional, sure, just think the expectation is that you're ready to make the right play 90%+ of the time. I don't see harm in him learning what it takes, going down and then thriving. Scoronato did it.

in the limited ice-time, for me he doesn't look like he can play at the NHL pace. And if you can't do that, you aren't going to get ice-time.

Honestly I'm not stressed about it either way. I think his upside is a bottom 6 forward, with low probability he even becomes that. So I don't see it being meaningful either way.
