Seems crazy that I'm not 100% sure the Yankees will outspend the Jays on a player that's a better fit in the Bronx than Toronto...
Although the Yankees are so poor defensively, I wonder if it is truly such a great fit for them? Maybe they don't care (and maybe it doesn't matter) but that's one thought that comes to mind.

Pardon me, I meant they'd trade Volpe. Chisolm would move to SS I'd imagine. This would put Bo at 2nd which with his bat would make him one of the most valuable at his position IMO.

I've assumed based on their actions that they don't care about D.

And him getting on base a bunch at the top of the order would make a lot more of those HRs they hit 2/3 run shots.

Bo isn't exactly a great on base guy. He collects a lot of hits and is above average at it. But his OBP is .337 in his career, and if you take away the one bad season it's around 345. So he's quite good at it, but more of a guy who hits his way on than just gets on base. He's not too different in that category than guys like Chisholm, Grisham or Rice. They'd almost be better using him behind a guy like Judge since he tends to put the ball in play more, and that's where having guys on base for him let's him to be productive.

Even if the Jays strike out on Bo and Tucker, it's been a very good off season.

The Jays are currently 2nd in fangraphs projected WAR in all of MLB, behind only the Dodgers of course.

The one thing that makes me wary though, is 4 of the top 9 teams in projected fWAR are in the AL east, and that doesn’t include the Rays who are always a pain in the ass. This division is such a bloody gauntlet. Sure would be nice to add one more projected 4 or 5 WAR player/bat to the line up.

Adnan Virk was on 960 this morning, he's decently connected within MLB. He said he doesn't believe Bo will sign in Toronto and that Tucker has been the Jays main target all along. But he thinks Tucker also has a good shot in signing with the Mets.

Heyman reporting today that the Mets are offering Tucker 50 mil a year. Not sure on the length or total of contract though. His source for it just says it's a short term deal.

Ok, so the Jays should offer him 150 for however long the Mets are offering (I assume it's 3 or 4 years) and another 150 over the next 4/5 with two player options. Same money (short-term), more security (long-term), more flexibility.

I'd love to know what the Jays best offer to Tucker has been.

Certainly sounds like things are concluding now. I don't think we'll get either. Jays aren't going to offer Tucker an AAV larger than Vlad, and Bo seems unlikely. Not sure what to think though TBH. One of them would help a lot offensively.

It doesn’t seem like the Jays are out by any stretch. Seems like it comes down to the short term high AAV deal vs long term deal Jays are offering. Fingers crossed.

Factor in too the CBA. However every player and agent interprets how they will go, may provide insight into how players structure their deals.

Is there going to be more cost certainty for owners? Are TV rights (regional and national) going to hold steady or collapse? In Tuckers case, in 3 years (assuming the Mets don’t put options on him) is he going to make as much or more then the extra amount he’s leaving on the table from a team with a longer deal, assuming he’s still decent?
Does he want to be in NY?

My guess is the Jays offer would be 6 years around $210MM.

Fair. I personally don't believe Tucker will be settling for a 6 year deal from the Jays. That would be ideal though. I'd guess 8 years is what he'll get, simply because they offered Cease 7 years. Tucker is more proven and probably more impactful that he can demand extra years. If there aren't many suitors I hope it's as low a term as possible though. Ultimately if the Mets are offering $50M for 3 seasons or something that would be impossible to pass up.

The Phillies have now emerged as the most likely landing spot for Bo Bichette according to Bet365.

+100 (even odds) to start the year in Philly
+225 to start the year as a Blue Jay
+400 to start the year in Boston

I'd take that. Anyone but the Red Sox and Yankees. Jays would be a bonus.

It sure does seem like the Jays are not really after Bo and havent been all off season.

It also seems like Tucker is their number one target but hes leveraging the Jays for better offers from preferred destinations.

Hope I'm wrong. Tucker is about as sure as bet for another 4.5 fWAR bat in the line up, and if he can stay healthy maybe even 6 fWAR.

However, it could be the other way around too. The Jays apparently have the best long term offer on the table for Tucker, maybe he's using the Mets short term $50 million per year offer to try and squeeze a little more AAV from Toronto on their long term deal.

Last off season I wouldn't say this, but based on what the baseball world just witnessed I can't see anyone with half a brain picking the Mets over the Jays.
