Trump just claimed that Iran reached out to ask for negotiations, but he says he may hit them first. I really believe that this regime has days left.
It all started with mobile phone providers banding together and refusing to sell devices because the currency was weakening each day and they couldn't make a profit. Don't mess with people's access to screens!
Is he planning to rule temporarily until elections can take place? The West deposing the elected government of Iran and forcing the Shah on them was a significant part of what led to the current mess. It seems wild to me that people are calling for the Shah to come back.
He had an interview on Fox that there would be a transition period, with free elections in a short time period (realistically couple years). Some pretty interesting questions.
A free Iran, liberated from the Islamic regime, would be an absolute game changer for the Middle East and world.
The country can be an absolute powerhouse, and it can’t be understated how the dynamics in the world would change if the country was no longer funding terrorist proxies throughout the Middle East, or aligning with Russia.
The people in Iran, both men and women, are some of the bravest out there.
It blows my mind that people are still able to talk themselves into thinking that America would make the most sense to intervene in another country's protests between that country's citizens and its government with everything happening in Minnesota now and other cities over the last number of years.
America does not care about Iranian citizens. They do not care about their right to protest. If America intervenes, Iranians will be worse off when all is said and done.

Thanks for this post.
It irks me that somehow Trump is seen as the "saviour" in this scenario and people need to realize that is and will never be true. This broken clock is wrong all times of the day.
America intervening will make it worse. No question about it.
Trump announces 25% tariff on countries doing business with Iran
US President Donald Trump on Monday said he had imposed a 25% tariff on goods from countries with commercial ties to Iran, a move that could put pressure on Tehran as anti-government protests enter a third week.
Xitter has essentially devolved into a propaganda platform for purchase. A lot of the "MAGA" accounts are run by non-Americans. Which makes it wild that so many fall for it so easily. People are being dummied all over the place, and don't even seem to care.

Yep, the US have lost the ability to be taken seriously when attempting to defend the right to protest in other countries.
Trump posts this - "Iranian Patriots, KEEP PROTESTING – TAKE OVER YOUR INSTITUTIONS!!!" an hour or so after posting about "anarchists and professional agitators" causing unrest in Minnesota.

X added the feature of being able to click on the join date to show where the account is from. So many of the high use MAGA accounts are based in Asia. Probably from misinformation farms
U.S. President Donald Trump wrote on social media on Tuesday, "Iranian Patriots, KEEP PROTESTING - TAKE OVER YOUR INSTITUTIONS!!! Save the names of the killers and abusers. They will pay a big price."
"I have cancelled all meetings with Iranian Officials until the senseless killing of protesters STOPS. HELP IS ON ITS WAY," Trump added.
The estimate in this video is 2000 killed but I've seen reports of well over 10K.

I was very vehemently on the side that there should be no foreign interference here. But it seems people on the ground have changed their tune, and they are now hoping for the US to step in and provide support. I don't think people understand how bad things are there with 40%+ inflation rates. The government is willing to kill as many people as it takes to retain power, so it seems difficult to see anything changing without some help.
I think the operation in Venezuela actually changed the game a bit that there is hope there can be a very limited surgical operation with low casualties resulting in regime change. So you can't really argue with the people on the ground protesting and putting their lives on the line, hoping that the US can do the same here. If they want support, who are we to oppose that.
Very difficult to get a sense of what's actually going on in Iran. MAGA propaganda. The Ayatollahs are sending out videos of the streets lined with hundreds of thousands of their supporters. Reports of 20k dead already. Other reports stating the death toll is only in the hundreds.

Yup, it's always been the case with these sorts of things. There are reports of a mostly united front among Iran's citizens to defend Iran against foreign interference and specifically, America, with interviews of Iranians confirming the same and voicing their support for their current government and leadership. On western media platforms though, we see opposite reports of the population mostly being against the current government and their desire to have America intervene and invade Iran. With this, many people will believe their preferred source and label the other ones as propaganda.

Pretty astounding that people make comments like this making assumptions about where the information is coming from, with zero knowledge of the posters.

Propaganda being the key word here. We are all being fed it, but I would like you to post your source please. I can’t say I agree with it, so would like to see for myself
I don't have the cycles to find the specific articles, but the source that reported support for the current government was seen on Al Jazeera yesterday. Al Jazeera has also reported on protestors against the current regime too though. For the other side of the story, on CNN, BBC, etc. the message is the opposite and the citizens there are wanting an American intervention.
My point was around how there's a lot out there that present opposite viewpoints, as there always is.
The state propaganda support videos are either recorded prior to these riots / protests or done in very isolated locations considering the sheer extensiveness of the protests.
There's many of those videos flooding on reddit and propagated by posters who are previously suspiciously extremely 'pro-palestine / anti-Israel (to the point of being antisemitic)' to claim that Iranians are for the theocracy and this is western agitation.
With Khamenei having ordered for the deaths of all actively opposing him, this could fast approach Rwanda levels of massacre. One side has all the guns and they are using them, and only one side has access to the internet to propagate a narrative.
Iran currency used to be 32,000 rials for a dollar in 2015. It is right now around 1.4 million rials for a US dollar.
To put it in perspective, the much talked about Russian ruble decline is 78.75 rubles for a US dollar. Argentina which suffered hyperinflation is at 1450 pesos to the US dollar.
This is a country with literally no water. No currency. Extreme and brutal oppression.
Some want to view this as a 'there are both sides' thing, simply because of personal deep rooted hatred of the US / Israel and not wanting a potentially pro-western ally surface. That is a perverse way of looking at a massacre (especially having observed quite contrasting opinions on Palestine-Israel).
And to claim that this a western media platform thing - they are barely covering this as is and largely using state provided information as it's currently the only available sourcing with only a handful of info trickling outside of it.
