That's my starting lineup and I think you badly underestimate Reschny. He will be in the NHl in 2 years and he's a very good centre for a guy like McKenna.
If I have to I can move Zary and play Sharangovich.

not competitive just yet, but exciting. Might need to add a couple of vets somehow.

Joseph would be incredible, ngl.
But since we're actually bad this year and its a rare feat im going to pick a top tier pick from this draft and assume we're back to middle ground next year.

6’5” dominant center to be drafted in 2027. Check out his highlight reels and scouting reports. By some accounts he might be the best prospect to come out of the Q since McKinnon.

I don't see it with Hanley either, but didn't want to put an X into the lineup. It'll probably just be a defenseman not on the roster right now who's going to be added via free agency or trade, and I didn't necessarily want to throw a dart.
It'll be Reschny's D+3 year, so who knows. I wouldn't be surprised one bit if he did a Frank Nazar, who's a forward with similar build and who went the college route as well. Nazar was actually hurt in his D+1 year and you could argue that Reschny is ahead of the curve at this point. Lane Hutson was a superstar in his D+3 year. I think Reschny can be an NHLer, why not.
And yeah dude, I know it's highly unlikely. I think e.g. the Hage trade scenarios are unrealistic too (I don't see Montreal trading him at all), but come on, let people have some fun in a thread like this one.

Forwards
1st line: McKenna/Steinberg - Frost - Coronato
2nd line: Huberdeau - Andersson trade prospect/player - Gridin
3rd line: Honzek - Backlund - Sharangovich
4th line: Wyttenbach - Zary - Klapka
Extras: Reschny/Potter both start in AHL and eventually called up after Frost and Zary traded.
Defense:
Bahl-Parekh
Kuznetsov -Weegar
Kadri trade prospect/player - Bru
Extras: Pachal, Grushnikov
Goalies:
Wolf
Cooley/Sergeev (Cooley gets traded at trade deadline to make room for Sergeev after 1 1/2 stellar AHL seasons)
Andersson/Coleman/Kadri/Hanley moved by this trade deadline adding 3 1sts; 1- 2nd; a future 2C; future LD; 1-4th; cap dump
Farabee/Cap dump moved by 2027 trade deadline for 1st, 3rd
Frost/Zary/Cooley moved by 2028 trade deadline for 1st, 2nd, 3rd.
Flames getting younger, better and still accumulating picks until 2030.
They miss 2027-28 playoffs and draft in top 10 but noone is bothered because Flames are young/dynamic/fun to watch again.
Conroy extended for third time.
2028-29 Playoff bubble team with the addition of one or two additional high draft picks into roster. Backlund scores the game winner in game 82 to sneak into playoffs. Wolf steals a playoff round against a top team.
Backlund announces retirement immediately after 2nd round playoff exit.
By 2029 legit contender mostly because Wolf is Vezina caliber in his prime, D is solid and enough offense from young core/stellar PP.

I haven't seen him but from what I'm told he can do it all, even at 16 Crickard uses him in every situation and he excels, It's early but with his size, IQ, skating and unreal overall game he's almost a lock for #1 OV

I have such a difficult time predicting the lineup because I think that Kadri, Coleman, Frost, and Andersson won't be here for 2027-28. Weegar, and Farabee are also questionable IMO.
Stenberg - Kapanen- Gridin
FarabeeSharangovich - Reschny - Coronato
Honzek - Zary - O'Rielly
Stromgren - Backlund - Klapka
Kerins, Pospisil
Kuznetsov - Makar
Bahl - Parekh
Morin - Brzustewicz
Cicek
Wolf
Cooley

Huberdeau - Frost - Wyttenbach
Gridin - Reschny - Roobroeck

One player I can see the Flames acquiring is Quinton Byfield. The Kings seem to want to get rid of him and he was linked to the Flames in a Rasmus Andersson trade that Rasmus used his NTC to shut down.

Where do you see this?
And I don't recall Byfield was linked in those rumors apart from wild fan speculation. The rumored deal was that it involved a goalie prospect (assuming to be George since they moved him to Ottawa) and picks.
Not Byfield.
Kopitar is in his final year. And they just traded Danault.
They have to keep Byfield otherwise their top center is Alex Turcotte?

For those pencilling in Reschny in this lineup, it's worth looking at the 2023 draft. At this point, you have about 6 bonafide established NHLers so far and maybe another 3 or 4 that are getting every game playing time as rookies this year.
So it is definitely possible that Reschny could be a regular NHLer by then, especially on a young rebuilding club. But it would require him outperforming his draft position (18th) and first or second line minutes is probably unrealistic.
