It’s an odd insult. I don’t think he thought it through.

I don’t really appreciate being told to shut up, you can cut out the aggressive and insulting posts anytime. I didn’t insult you until you felt the need to call me loopy so cool it already.
I also answered that already that in the last year Conroy should have traded Andersson at the trade deadline. Unless of course THIS YEAR means the last 11 days which is pretty silly.
Conroy seems to have drafted decently and I really like Parekh. I’m genuinely excited about his ability. Seeing Zayne put up a great performance at the WJC was quite something. I don’t hate management at all, I’m just not about to pull out the kneepads for a group that has been inactive for the last calendar year.
Edit: I also really like Cooley and I’m happy management gave him the backup spot. He’s got a great attitude and he’s played well. The interviews from him are a nice plus.
Also I have no clue what you’re trying to ask with the bolded, that was some real alphabet soup.

I just hate this is the year the canucks decide to tank, the year the flames are actually trending to be bottom of the league. The only saving grace is that it's not McKenna or bust, there are a couple of other great options available (stenberg).
At one point that locker room had a solid core of high end players (hughes, horvat, petterson, miller etc), they really muffed that one up.

Actually, you insult me every time you ignore the facts I bring up and carry on as if I hadn't mentioned them and your point was unaffected by them. I really despise it when people do that. I called you loopy because you insisted on ignoring things that have actually happened, as if you were in your own private world where you were entitled to make up your own facts. ‘Loopy’ is one of the more polite words for people who do that.

No, that is not what I asked at all. I asked what he CAN do this season, not what he COULD HAVE done or what he DID do. So you did not answer the question. You did not even understand the question. Do you have trouble with English verb tenses?

It was a simple and grammatical English sentence. I didn't realize you had such difficulty with reading comprehension, so I will break it down for you:
I am talking about the time from now until the end of this season. Is there anything Conroy could possibly do during that time that you would approve of?
Or are you just going to complain no matter what happens? If so, there's no point in reading anything further that you have to say, because it's just emotional noise and I already know enough about your emotions.

It is concerning that three canadian teams are/were the bottom three in the league (last I checked a couple days ago). Canucks and flames I get.... winnipeg is the mystery one for me, with the roster they have.

I don't always agree with how the Flames approach things, and the Maloney stuff was a mess...but let's not give the Canucks organization credit for anything here or act like they are somehow better managed under Alvin than the Flames are under Conroy..
They traded Horvat who was their captain away to keep Miller who was already a poison.
Then traded Miller away because he was then harassing their next superstar in Pettersson who somehow went from looking like a top 10 center in the league to a mess under this management group.
The Miller trade itself was fine...but then they turned around and moved the 1st round pick they got (12th OV) for Marcus Pettersson (barf)
That situation was so bad in the locker room that it also alienated their Franchise player in Quinn Hughes and it's a big reason he wanted to leave the organization.
They re-signed Brock Boeser instead of trading him at the deadline last year for some reason and now he has 21 points in 42 games this season.
Helped a division rival out by giving them a get out of jail free card by taking on Kane's contract, and the team as a whole is a bit of a mess.
So sure they announced they are rebuilding, but man they are more disfunctional than any organization out there and deserve no credit for a press release.

Patrik Allvin was on after hours in November shooting down any thought of a rebuild...its as bad or worse than anything Maloney said.
All that happened is their young superstar wanted out and their old goalie they just extended got hurt for the 1000th time. Like they traded the 12th overall pick last year for a 29 year old and a pick for Kane in the summer.
Come on, you guys aren't that dumb..especially OP

Is it time for another break Jay? I don’t appreciate the insults that keep coming my way. Your “facts” aren’t fact, but rather opinion so I don’t feel the need to stoop to that level.
To the bolded, this was what you asked me:

So I answered what he could do in the last calendar year. Are you blind?? Lol. Anyways I’ve given some praise to Conroy, but you seem to have a picture painted of me that you can’t let go of. Ive not lost sight of that.

Its not about giving the Canucks credit, they are a bad organization. It just means they recognize what they are aiming for this year. Which means competition for the Flames for the best picks in the draft. Teams are going to intentionally enter the McKenna sweepstakes, and I'm sure Vancouver is targeting being in that mix.

Trading a 26 year old SUPERSTAR because he forces you to is hardly a rebuilding move

Everything I have stated as a fact is a fact. It's a fact, for instance, that the Flames traded away 7 vets. You dismissed that by saying they are all ‘bit players’. Most people use the term ‘bit player’ to refer to someone completely unimportant, like an actor with one line in a play or movie – which is the original meaning of the phrase.
In other words, it may be equivalent to what sports people call a replacement-level player; certainly not more. A starting goalie is not a bit player. A top-six forward is not a bit player. A top-four defenceman is not a bit player. Calling players of that calibre ‘bit players’ is just a cheap rhetorical trick, which you use to pretend that none of the trades made were important or valuable. I award you no points.
According to your weird personal definition, every single player on the Flames at that time was a bit player. So clearly there was NO way they could get credit from you for trading ANYONE away for futures. You would simply discount it as insignificant, because they didn't have a Hughes in the organization. You have made that very clear.

To the bolded, this was what you asked me:

Yes. And I did not ask what he DID do, or what he COULD HAVE done, but what he COULD do THIS YEAR, meaning the year we are now in, and not the past.
Quote:
|
So I answered what he could do in the last calendar year.
|
You answered a question that I did not ask (and still haven't answered the one I did ask). There is nothing now that he could do in the last calendar year, because that year is over and there is nothing anyone can do about it now. There are things that he could have done, but he didn't, and I didn't ask about that.
MOD EDIT: Please stop with the insults
RESPONSE TO MOD EDIT: Tell him the same. You let him call me blind. This is like a linesman stopping a fight, sending one player off for a fighting major, and giving the other one a cookie.

You haven't addressed a single point that I raised, and I don't believe you ever intended to. You just feel that you are entitled to your own facts.
Calling people blind isn't OK either, you know. You may want to think about that.

If you read this thread, I think you will find that the actions mean nothing if the word is not spoken to cast the magic rebuild spell.
