I believe in the Jays.

Vlad will age better then Bo. Bo doesn't walk... once he loses bat speed he's cooked. I think he signs for like 7 years 200M.

Owners are starting to see how success can skyrocket franchise value.

Skubal and the Tigers are MILES apart on their arb filings. Doesn't seem like a situation where he gets extended any time soon. Man I hope he doesn't end up in the AL East somehow, unless it's the Jays of course.
Could certainly see the Red Sox or the Yankees making a play for him though.

Don't be ridiculous.
Skubal is going to be a Dodger. Skenes is gonna be the Yankee...

If Skubal became available would you include Yesavage in a package for him?

I know this isn't addressed to me, but he's been a star for about 3 seasons now. Being 29, he likely has some more runway to go, but traditionally pitchers top out around now. There's a lot of uncertainty around Yesavage, but I'd rather keep him. He's only 22. Pete Walker is a guy I can trust to keep developing more pitches with him.

Skubal is a free agent next off season and a Boras client.
I wouldn't give much up for him because hes probably not signing without going to market.

Plus the Jays need to keep building up their system yet, IMO.
The Dodgers are who they are not just because they spend more than anyone, they have the best farm system in all of baseball.
That’s what I want for the Jays long term vs gut it now and have a shorter competitive runway, as good as Skubal is. And as mentioned, he will almost certainly go to market.

Naw, the dodgers are who they are because they spend and everyone wants to go there.
The only stud on their roster that they drafted is Will Smith.

It’s not even that they’re graduating prospects. Picking up arms like Snell and Glasnow without barely making a dent in their farm system is what is so impressive.

Snell was a free agent signing.
As was Yamamoto, Ohtani, Freeman, Muncy, Teo, Sasaki and all their top bullpen arms like Diaz, Treinen and Scott.

I forgot about Snell. And yes it’s still their spending, I get that. Having the league’s top farm system makes them that much scarier though, IMO.

Got an alert that Bregman signs with the Cubs. Didn't expect him to land on the Jays anyway.

Thats an excellent result as it's not back in the AL East or even the AL at all. Love it

Many are saying the Red Sox will be going really hard after Bo now with Bregman gone.
Man will i be pissed if he signs with an AL east rival.

More and more the hope for a return of Bo to the Jays is down to the Vlad factor, getting to keep his longtime teammate from the minors to take a hometown discount.
But considering the Jays purposely didn’t involve Vlad in any of the negotiations of his off field pal Soto a couple years back (mind you this was pre-re signed Vlad) not sure how much the Jays executive care about those things.
Yeah I think those last images after the Bo Game 7 HR, with him and Vlad embracing, is the end of that chapter.

I thought from the beginning that he'd ultimately go to the Yanks as for them it'd kill two birds with one stone (getting a position player they need while also subtracting from a rival). I'm guessing the Yanks are lining up a trade of Chisolm in the meantime if Bo gives his word.

Yeah. He's such a good fit with the Yankees it always made the most sense for him to go there. But we'll see if they're willing to spend the money.
Seems crazy that I'm not 100% sure the Yankees will outspend the Jays on a player that's a better fit in the Bronx than Toronto...
