Other teams coming in with a better offer than Danielson and a 27 1st?
Just spit balling a pie in the sky idea but what if the bidding gets so hot you could land Hagen's 1 for 1. Do we walk rass to the airport?

Surely Conroy would have some inkling of their intent or he wouldn’t waste a bunch of time.

Been mentioning this on recent Afterburner shows but it feels like this two-day break between games (basically three days, after a matinee today) is the perfect opportunity for CGY to buck the trend of not making deals during road trips. Gives them a chance to hunker down in Columbus and get this thing wrapped up before Tuesday. Get guys where they need to be, sort out equipment and accommodations, etc.

I hope Coleman, Raz, and Naz all go to good landing spots. In a dark spell for the team, these guys have been great soldiers.

Coleman's reps have been told to prepare: "it's a real possibility between now and Olympic break - that break could be nice to get settled with his young family" one source believes.

I honestly don't think that Dallas or VGK have anything that can touch what Detroit could offer.
But I worry that if Rasmus knows those two teams are interested he wouldn't re-sign in Detroit:

Yeah, hopefully Ras gets a Cup before Flames contention window opens up.

Exactly. And it goes even further, as far as the idea of spreading out the wealth goes - adding Danielson and a 27 1st would mean:
2023: 2 1sts, 5 players in the top 100 (Danielson, Honzek, Morin, Suniev, Brzustewicz)
2024: 2 1sts, 6 in the top 100 (Parekh, Gridin, Basha, Battaglia, Mews, Zarubin)
2025: 2 1sts, 4 in the top 100 (Reschny, Potter, Stockselius, Phillips)
2026: 2 1sts, 5 in the top 100 (so far)
2027: 2 1sts, 4 in the top 100 (so far)
So 10 1sts, and 24 top-100 players (and counting) in 5 years. That's how you stockpile assets to build a core!

Wherever they end up, I’d love to see at least one of them lift the cup this summer

Wonder if other guys are being considered too... Hanley, Kirkland, Lomberg (although I doubt it), maybe Sharangovich?

And that doesn't even include potential assets from Coleman and Kadri which should hopefully add two more 1sts to that haul.

I can't confirm Detroit's offer FWIW.
Lots of #### being thrown around at the moment.

With multiple packages from Detroit on the table, maybe that includes a version of the deal that requires more from the Flames for Ras as a rental?
Detroit: Ras+ or Ras with retention (so that DET could really load up)
Calgary: Danielson and 2027 1st

Agreed. Getting 1st round picks a year or two (or three) out is great strategy.

I know not top 100 in 2025 but Wyttenbach might be the 2nd most valuable Flames prospect from that draft class now.
