All the insiders have started ramping up their narratives surrounding Hamilton and Palat turning down multiple trades each because both will only go to teams on their trade lists (which is their right) with the leaks no doubt coming from the frustrated Devils. With the Devils drifting further and further from the playoffs, Fitzgerald likely knows his days are numbered barring a significant and swift turnaround: the perfect time to pounce. Definitely unnecessary and Mews was looking incredible before he had his knee blown out. Need to see one more full year of development and how he bounces back from that injury before I’d consider moving him, I think he could be a special prospect with the attributes he possesses.

I love Mews but the center depth needs a very big shot in the arm. And having two coming in from a deep at center team , it's a tough decision to make but one that I feel needs to be made.

If Ras would sign an extension with the Sharks I wonder if he'd have enough value to them to get Misa 1 for 1.

I don’t think he would but here’s where ud consider sweeteners like the Vegas 1st or a mews. I still think it’s wishful thinking but it would be incredible to add Misa.

I think Dougie is more of a cap dump at this point in his career, so it could mean that the Devils are making a big move!

Dougie only has 2 more years left at 9 million a year as an offensive dman who does not create offence. I am sure he will be a hot commodity.

Ottawa could definitely be in panic-trade mode with their pick forfeited this year. Would make sense to try and attempt to at least salvage the season with moves that show they want to make the playoffs.

Reached out to Dougie Hamilton’s agent J.P. Barry. His response:
“Dougie was informed today that he will be not be playing now that Kovacevic is back in the lineup. In our view,
this decision is all about business rather than his game right now. Singling him out seems very calculated at this stage.
Dougie has a 10-team trade list and there have been efforts to trade him going back to the draft last year. We have made it clear to the Devils that we will consider teams outside our list and other creative ways to get to a team that is mutually acceptable.”
So Hamilton camp willing to be flexible beyond 10-team list if it means finding suitable team in a trade.
