Living in the NIL world where Indiana is the unquestioned best team in college football makes me hope we see a day where the Ivy League gets bumped up to FBS. A Harvard-Yale national championship game with a billion dollars of players on the field would be fun.

Miami has really good line play on both sides so that will give them a chance. Oregon have shat themselves again like last year, the pick-6 and the first fumble were just comical. Miami obviously needs to avoid the stupid turnovers too.

Watched this game out at a restaurant tonight. This should quiet the last people out there saying Indiana is overrated. Not as fun as last night, but just impressive to watch.

Indiana has an old team but they are very well coached. Cignetti is awesome.

Hopefully Miami puts together some sort of game plan to make it interesting.

This is a feature, not a bug, and it could be the future of college football. Older players are more physically mature, experienced, and easier to coach. Saw a stat that Indiana's average player age is 23, while the Green Bay Packers average age is 25. And with NIL paying some guys better than a rookie NFL contract will I would guess older teams are going to become more common.

Yes.
I think Cignetti's portal plan (production above all else) is the key. He brings in older guys who have played a lot of college football instead of chasing a couple star players, raw talent, or high school recruiting stars. Veterans who have experienced a lot on the field end up going to Indiana for what amounts to finishing school under Cignetti. It also results in quality depth across a very high floor roster and undercutting the need for star players.
Indiana's top three rushers have gained 1,060 yards, 961 yards, and 505 yards.
Their top five receivers (four WR) all have at least 30 receptions and are between 370 and 866 receiving yards.
They are second per game in tackles for loss with 128, but 11 players have at least 5.5.
They are sixth per game in sacks with 45 with ten players between 2 and 8.
Mendoza is the headliner because he is their quarterback and he is very talented (his accuracy last night is the standout feature), but he is surrounded by a lot of talent up and down the roster.

Dante Moore making the smart decision of returning for another year.
Not much left of a once highly thought of QB class. Moore, Manning and Sellers returning, while the draft stock of the Nussmeiers, Becks and Allars of this class have all taken big hits. Mendoza is going to have his talents wasted in Vegas. Who's left? Ty Simpson, John Mateer? Yikes.

Well you mentioned Allar, who may have been the second QB picked last year if he came out, and now he'll be picked in R3 or later in this draft. This is a very bad QB class and Moore might go as high as #2, but he could come back and watch his stock plummet. NIL money is nice, but #2 pick would get between $30-35 million guaranteed, and it starts the clock on a bigger extension. Big risk for him.
