Any player is an injury risk every game they play, Olympics or not. I get the appetite for not taking on the risk pre-Olympics, but if you don’t make the trade and it’s post deadline you’ve not bought a player that could be healthy by the time playoffs are here, you’ve missed.

So accept a deal just for the sake of accepting one?
Glad you’re not GM.

Like Royale said, maybe good offers. But not great. If it was great he’d be gone
Don’t know how others feel but maybe time to healthy scratch Ras. Protect the asset but maybe bluff teams into thinking something’s close and get them to present their best offers.
Maybe conroy is getting ready to call hands.

If Conroy gets an offer he likes (it doesn't have to be an overpay) and doesn't think will get better before the deadline then he should take it. If he feels like he can do better or teams are offering prospects or young players that he's not really interested in then he shouldn't.

Who gives a $%#* what the fanbase thinks? It’s all about results. Maloney made it clear he doesn’t care about the fanbase, he thinks very little of our dedication level.
Just is what it is.
Flames miss out on a stud and draft a less than stud player by a slim margin, it’ll be a fair criticism. That’s the GMs job, to build an excellent team.
If he holds the max return value and say get that extra 3rd or 4th or whatever and that 3rd or 4th turns into a stud? Genius level management and drafting.
He holds for the max return, loses the stud, and that extra pick busts? Well, there’s a GM likely out of here in short order because he won’t have built anything worth a damn.
I’m generally just saying “I think it’s wise to go with the path most likely to succeed”, which is to do whatever you can to lock in a top draft pick. The other path has a lower percentage of success (unless of course everything goes just right and the team keeps losing right now anyways - and he maxes return. That right there is the perfect outcome, but not something Conroy can directly impact as he doesn’t play the games).

Only if you think you have something imminent. Players are paid to play. But I get the sentiment.

Clearly Conroy thinks he has a good poker hand, but he’s an idiot because he only holding two cards. Chimps can’t count to five.

You're assuming that they wouldn't miss out if they moved them early.
There's no guarantee of that happening but I guess then the complaints would move to that they should have traded them in the summer or last season. Or maybe two years ago?

Absolutely.
Risk in everything.
Also worth noting, I’m not complaining about anything Aarovgavey. Simply saying there are actions that could be taken (or not taken), and they do have downstream impacts on outcome.

First gm to have a good centre prospect will get a deal done is what i think.
Throw a top ten pick center our way most of our players, barring a few exceptions, are probably up for grabs.

Conroy is looking at his cards (an offer), but hasn't thrown his chips in yet (accepted/rejected the offer)
and apparently sec secretly thinks Craig is a monkey.
