I havent seen the latest episode yet, and overall I've been enjoying it, but yeah, thematically its all over the place. I dont know where its going either. There are a lot of loose storylines to wrap up and I dont know what the condition of this show is.
Is it a limited series? Designed for 2 or + seasons? A 'play it by ear and make it up as we go along?' I really dont know.
From what I've seen, the plan is for each season to deal with a different time period of It's appearances in Derry over the years. In theory, they could do many seasons, but if they keep going back 27 years at a time, it very quickly becomes the 1800s, which might be hard for modern audiences to relate to.
This season teases a few things that play out in the movies, but also provides some insight into the last cycle, with the young kids who grew up into the General and Secondhand Rose from season 1. Presumably, season 2 will go more in depth into their story.

Heated Rivalry is legitimately great. The hype about how spicy it is overshadows some truly standout performances and character development. A gem to close out the year.

A couple shows I got through fairly quickly that i enjoyed was The Beast in Me and All her fault.
I had minimal expectations going in, but I enjoyed The Beast in Me. Compared to Task, the much more hyped mini-series that recently came out, it is so much better planned. Task was great until part way through it's second last episode. I found myself wondering what they could possibly have to still tell in 1.5 episodes....it turns out not much and could have easily wrapped up in that last half an episode.
The Beast in Me on the other hand, was timed well, series was the right length, enough character development without it being excessive. The #1 thing is it wrapped everything up in the right amount of episodes and time, which so many shows get wrong now.
Yeah it’s over dramatic and clearly trying to copy the tone of GoT with the moral ambiguity, politics, and some ridiculous sexposition, but I’m hooked on Robin Hood. Sean Bean is a great Sheriff. Two episodes to go.

Late to watch, but my wife and I just finished the first three seasons of Mayor of Kingstown. Violent, gritty. Good show. Looking forward to season 4 in late October.
