Flames TSN: Kadri willing to consider move to top contender. Habs interested in Coleman

https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/video/2026/01...nsider-change/

Dreger says that while Kadri is happy to stay in Calgary, he is willing to consider move to a top contender if the opportunity were presented.

LeBrun says that the Habs and Flames have talked about Coleman but nothing is imminent.
Habs want to see where they stand after Olympic break and Flames haven't completely given up on the season yet.
Lots of teams have called on Coleman
Coleman has a partial NTC that can block 2/3rds of the League.

Music to my ears. Great to deal him while he's still a great asset.

I have a prediction in my head about the various reactions to this clip. Let's see who says what...

I wouldn’t read too much into that.
Craig knows the reality and chances and is keeping the cards close to his chest.
It’s all coming to plan now.

Kadri and Coleman should be packaged to Montreal if they’re wanting to make some noise. Look at the Atlantic division: there’s not much disparity between the teams. In the trade rumors thread, I did say the Habs would likely not trade Hage. Well, if we packaged these two vets and also took on a salary dump or two (Anderson and/or Dach), that would be a solid deal. Hage + 1st + other piece(s) to solidify the deal. Kadri retention wouldn’t make sense, but eating half of Coleman would. Don’t think Gallagher would move.

If we trade Kadri, Coleman and lose Andersson we're going to have to double Huberdeau's wages so he can afford his poutine and do the only thing he's good at...keeping us Cap Compliant...

And we will never know the order of events with this one. Is it he went to Flames management with the exodus of other veterans? Conroy approached him? Is disgruntled with losing?

Regardless, the player expressing a desire or willingness to move on has historically been a catalyst.

It's definitely feeling more palatable to bottom out this year after watching two Flames prospects be key players at the world Juniors. Kind of like when Gridin was tearing it up at the start of the season.

You've gotta think that there will be a boatload of assets if they move those three guys.
