So, any of those staunch 2A advocates in the U.S. ready to start making good on that whole "resisting tyranny" thing, or -- ...wait, what do you mean they're okay with it?

Awesome that the police and fire (chiefs I presume) are standing in solidarity there with the mayor. I do expect widespread rioting this evening though.
On a lighthearted note if one can be had here, but I met that ASL interpreter at a conference in the States a few months ago (Nic I believe). Was a really cool person. Loved the intensity with which the 'get the eff out of Minneapolis' was interpreted.

A protest is not a riot.

I said riot intentionally. But let me rephrase- I expect a riot in Minny, but perhaps just protests elsewhere. Perhaps the mayors words might diffuse any anger to lash out at the city itself, but I dunno.

Feds are begging for that to happen. Would be a mistake.
Same thing a hockey team does when you get the crap kicked out of you endlessly, can the coach, can the GM, rebuild
It is the same 80 year *uck wits that lost them the state houses, the House senate and the Presidency, to be honest the Dems and their utter commitment to doing nothing at all different for 60 odd years that has led to this, they did nothing after Nixon took the south from them, Reagan was the writing on the wall, Palin and the tea party the 5 alarm fire, they still did nothing, as a party the Dem's are utterly incompetent at every level, at state level they have always been corrupt, so are the GOP but the GOP aren't running on being the 'good party', at the house level they just dont care about half the country
Yup. Poor David Pakman had Democrat Senator Raphael Warnock on his show in an interview and after hearing Warnock dodge a very basic question of "What can the Democrats do to restrain Trump?" first at 41:04, then again at 43:37 when David asks him again, before finally, at 45:43 Pakman gives up and provides Warnock instead with a suggestion, asking if he agrees that essentially, the Democrats are at the mercy of the Republicans.

I'd like to echo the mayors comments on getting the #### out of Minneapolis, but add further with "and get in one of Elon's little rocketships and launch yourself into the sun."
Noem is a piece of ####.
The correct response is tragically there has been loss of life. Officers involved have been relieved of duties, pending a full investigation. Officers have the right to defend themselves, if justified. We have no further comments in this ongoing investigation.

It is pretty drastic to see the difference in response between George Floyd and this woman (reported to be Renee Nicole Good). Republicans at least made some effort to disapprove of Floyd's killing.
Hard to believe in only 5 years it's changed so much, now they can't blame Democrats fast enough.

But certainty is an absurd one.
I read that the woman killed (a legal observer) was also the mother of a 6 year old child. The father of the child is also deceased, so they officially orphaned a 6 year old child. Donald Trump is ultimately responsible.
