Put Bahl or Kuznetsov with him down the road and he'll do just fine.

Put me firmly in the camp of not concerned.
He'll be under the tutelage of guys like Weegar (he's having a tough season, but an outlier from an Olympic caliber career otherwise) and Backlund (one of the best 200 foot players in the league).
The dramatics here are overblown.
I can't wait until ZP start tearing it up in the nhl while sporting a positive rating in even strength situations to silence this flapdoodle nonsense.

Look what Methot did for Karlsson early on.
Zayne has something you can't teach, pure absolute and undeniable skill. Instead of focusing on his weaknesses, put the player in the best position possible where he can exploit his strengths to the maximum.
For example, Chris Tanev was almost universally loved on these boards. A team full of Chris Tanev's would really have trouble scoring goals. You need diversity among your lineup. It's the sum of the entire parts that count.
Parekh is going to be one hell of a NHLer, the team simply needs to put him into the right environment to do so.

I don't see that many gaffes from him really. In the defensive zone, he just looks too casual sometimes especially when digging for pucks. That's something he can work and improve on, but it's going to be up to him if he accepts that. If they are spending more time in the offensive zone overall when Parekh is on the ice, it's probably a wash anyway.
In the offensive zone, he looked like a typical player right out of junior and was half a second behind. That's something that should come naturally with experience as he gets used to how much faster decisions need to be made in the NHL versus junior.
It's still too bad that he couldn't start in the AHL this season.

Not Weegar - that’s a bad match.

He really shouldn't have to apologize for that. It was such a nothing comment. Shocking that some apparently took it poorly. Yeeeeesh.
Dude is 19 years old. Feels like we're on track to run this guy out of town already, and watch him put up star numbers for another team. How many of us have complained that we lack star level talent for years??? Well, this guy seems to have it... He has some warts to work on, but It'd be great if we could let him do what he does best instead of suppressing it.

In this age of people needing to be outraged to farm for clicks/tweets/posts/narratives/promote their own personal flaws, the over reactions to everything a 19 year old says is not shocking.
Its only, as it will ever be, disappointing.

Grown adults need to chill out a bit. Let the kid be a kid, and he’ll mature when he matures. He’s said and done nothing that has been offside from what I’ve seen.
You want superstar players but want them to be vanilla and polished like Jarome was. Not everyone fits a certain mold.
I’m thrilled to see a kid come in with some confidence and swagger. It’s overdue.

Imagine complaining about a 19‑year‑old defenseman on a team starved for high‑end talent. Some people really think they have a magic 8‑ball. Is this actually about his talent, or is it more about him having opinions that upset the current vets? He’s well‑educated and well‑spoken, and I’m glad he’s willing to speak his mind.
The Flames always seem to find ways to chase talent away, then cry when those players go on to succeed elsewhere.

If he had only said ‘some NHLers’ were like robots, he’d have been fine. Because some are, and everybody in the game knows it. There are running jokes about it.
Remember the meme about ‘the many moods of Dion Phaneuf’? Half a dozen identical photos of him with a stony face, all labelled with different emotions. Years before that, the Minnesota North Stars ran an ad with identical pictures of a scowling Bob Gainey. More recently there were the ‘Boring Sean Monahan’ tweets. Some guys lean into being robotic and make it their schtick, or at least laugh about it when others do.

Is there any evidence at all that the Flames had any part in the negative reaction? Seems to me it was all nitpicking fans and clickbait media. But sure, blame the organization for that.
Moreover, if Parekh leaves town over this, he is the thinnest-skinned human being that ever lived.

So, media made things up to cause problems in the Flames dressing room. Must be jealous of the culture they have developed. Thank for the clarification!
