Sony PSP- Is it worth it?
I have been thinking about getting a Sony PSP. But is it worth it? It seems a lot of people think the PSP is a piece of *&^@#!
Any Psp owners out there who like the system? Is it a better idea to wait for the new slim one?
If you like it, what are the best games for it, and is online gaming any good on the PSP?

I've had one for a couple years, played it off and on until I bought MLB07 The Show. Now I'm playing that damn thing everyday, great for killing time on flights or when you're stuck out of town for work.
By the way, what's with "Location Free"? Easy to learn and set up?

i have to admit, there has been a couple times on flights where i have been pretty jealous of the dudes playing on their PSP's. i can see how they'd be great in that situation.

It's not a replacement over a 360 or PS3, but if you find yourself away a lot, and want something to pass the time, I'd reccomend it.
GTA: Vice City is a must, WSOP: Tournament Of Champions is another I play too much. MLB:06 was a blast so I would imagine 07 is just as good if not better.
I've never really used the online function as I buy most of my games used. By that time, the server has changed, or people are so much better at the game than little old me that I'm lost in the game play.
Again, not a replacement for the next gen systems, but might be worth it. I just never understood the appeal of a pen to play games (DS). And I don't think Nintendo released any sports games for DS either.

MLB 07 The Show is just fantastic. I have a 360, but I haven't played it in months. I find myself playing a game of baseball, generally everyday. Nice little system.
Edit- I should also add, that playing GTA: Liberty City stories on the PSP is a blast. GTAIII is probably my favorite game of all time, and roaming those three cities on a hand-held system is great.

True Swing Golf for the DS is pretty good--swinging with the pen works well.

It's great as a media device and to play emulated games. The library is getting better but it's still a distant 2nd in terms of handheld GAMING machines if gaming is what you want to use it for.
I've owned a PSP at 2 different times since it was released and have sold it both times. I don't think I'll be buying it again.

It's decent. I use it to download TV shows like Office and Family Guy, then watch them on flights ... as much as I play video games.

For a guy like me, the PSP is perfect . . . . . I only use my computer for a couple of flight simulator games and never use the TV for any video games.
Wherever I plunk down in the house, the PSP is good enough if the mood strikes, breaking from a book or during commercials on TV.
Pretty much forget I have it through the summer though. It's a winter thing.
I have about 12 or so games for it, gifts generally. The ones I use would be a couple of Navy SEAL shoot-em-up's, a futuristic jet skiing race course one and, the latest addiction, a road rally one using various real courses around the globe.

If you have decided to get a Sony PSP, just wait til September because Sony is going to release a new PSP which is lighter, slimmer and load games a bit faster.

My wife gave me one for my 30th birthday this year and I'm enjoying it a lot. Never had the impulse to buy one for myself, but it's been a treat. Love to play golf and racing games on it. Even enjoying a few old RPG's.
