McCarron was chirping everyone hard and did a drive by on the Flames bench. And initiated the fight with Beecher. He got what he deserved. I have more respect for Beecher now standing up as a team player.

McCarron was swinging away on Beecher while Beecher was being held by another player.

I’m all for this. But they should be consistent as well. We have a player out for months due to a sucker punch.

I am sure there is precedent for this, and it won't be difficult to dig up. However, it certainly feels like incidents like these seem to always be punished if you are wearing a Flames' uniform, while not always punished if you are not.

For instance, who started it last night? McCarron. He got off a bunch of shots too. I get it that it was over, but still.

Lucic got suspended when he popped a guy for running around - especially running the goalie. Running the goalie always results in getting popped, especially if it happens more than once. I felt that was a stupid suspension.

Go back some years to when Tkachuk made the entire Detroit franchise furious, and resulted in Mantha getting on top of Hamonic off the ice in the benches feeding him punches - no discipline on that at all.

These are just the ones off the very top of my head. I am 100% sure that many (if not most) other fan bases probably feel the same, which just speaks to the level of inconsistency of the discipline being handed out regularly, but that doesn't make it ok.

Hopefully Beecher just gets a small fine. Considering the series of events all over the place there, what he went through should have more than sufficed as 'punishment', right? I am completely surprised he is getting a hearing.

Has he been put on IR? If not he can just serve a suspension instead.

1. Thats BS. As many have pointed out, McCarron earned that one.

2. Oh noes! John Beecher might be suspended?!? Howsoever shall the Flames survive without him?!?!

The NHL should basically ask Beecher nicely to maybe not do that again next time and, at the same time tell McCarron that if he goes looking for trouble keep your hands up!

And don't forget that in the highlighted incident, Flame player Tkachuk did get a 1 game suspension for lightly tapping the back of a Red Wings leg as they were going to the bench. The tap wouldn't have broken an egg but still Tkachuk got a game. Mantha wailing on Hamonic, who had fallen through the door at the Detroit bench, got nothing.
The Flames, are clearly held to a different standard, than most other NHL team when it comes to suspension.

Sucker punched? Knocked out?

He was cowering behind the cover of linesman after he sucker punched Beecher. And although we wish he was knocked out, your reality is purley A.I.

Ok? Discipline is supposedly based off of intent, the intent in each incident was the same.
