I don't think they're directionless at all.
Teams that sit on draft capital and cap space and move UFAs before deadlines have a direction.
They've clearly stopped trying to improve the current team. That's a direction.
Could they be more aggressive for sure? And I get that complaint but they're not directionless.

This dude - once again he's mixed up who he is responding to (and throws the insult my way as a bonus).

6+ firsts in 3 drafts and near league high cap space
going all in to sneak in again!
like do you not see how dumb you sound? I'm not sure what the point of this debate is. Flames are a better team than you thought, it is what it is. They aren't going to throw games or make bad trades on purpose. If that is what you want you will be dissapointed.
If they were hell bent on sneaking in they would trade the Vegas first for some scoring help and give Ras his 8x9M

Doing nothing and staying picking 15th every year is a direction I guess.
Because that is what we did last year, and that is looking like the likely projection for this year as well.

That's off side.
Outing people's identities and personal attacks is over the top.
Knock it off.

Flames haven't picked 15th since 1981
Al MacInnis
they have done it one time in Calgary history

The rebuild may not be done exactly how I would do it, but I am not going to waste all of my time and energy complaining about it in every single thread on here. I have enough self awareness to realize that I'm not special and that the team and management don't need to get my permission and go ahead on how to proceed.
Conroy seems to have a plan and I guarantee he doesn't give a damn about what rando's on a message board thinks he should do. He has years of experience around the NHL as a player and in management. If he thinks they should be stockpiling picks and trying to maximize the return for players versus a panic fan induced selloff then I say give him a chance to see how it succeeds.

Not defending PaperBagger but for the record, Lionel Hutz is a fictional lawyer from The Simpsons.

I would actually not mind San Jose’s chances as a wildcard if they draw Edmonton round 1. Especially if they convinced Ras to extend there in a trade.
Orlov Ras
Ferraro Klingberg
Dickinson Mukhamadullin
Isn’t a bad top 6. Could maybe use another 4/5 to push Klingberg down

Last year they were directionless and holding onto Andersson is where I hang my hat. Yes there were other pieces moved but when Conroy (supposedly) had a hard choice to make with Rasmus, he didn’t do anything.
This year is half done and we haven’t moved anyone yet, still sitting on our hands and waiting.

A crappy direction I would say, looking at this teams playoff record the last 20 years, I would think perhaps a "different path" should be entertained.

Is there any way where we can create another thread that will strictly talk about how the flames management will or won’t commit to rebuild so we can actually save this thread for people to suggest trades and share rumors, instead of checking and every 2 hours is 50 posts about the same #### that doesn’t really follow the thread subject?
It’s the same thing every day. And it’s to the point where I see who is posting and just keep scrolling because it doesn’t add to the discussion and is just bickering hens.

Why do you look at the last 20 years v Conroy's term?

In fairness to PaperBagger, simple is one of the few multiple syllable words he knows.

I guess I could have quoted you as well, I figured you would know which post of yours I was responding to. In the future I will do better to make things easier for you to understand

We are in year 4 of potentially missing the playoffs, picking 10-15 is much bigger failure than whatever we get for Andersson.
Our focus should be on ensuring that we pick high, by holding onto over achieving vets, we have lessen our chance at a lottery win.
Would you rather take a chance on McKenna, stenburg, or Verhoeff or squeeze out another b level prospect from another team
