according to Frank Seravalli on his podcast, there is strife between Adam Fox and Drury & Sullivan due to the Olympic snub.

That's a shame

shades of Yzerman and St. Louis.

Wonder if Fox demands a trade.

I really dislike players who get sour about this stuff (as opposed to disappointed like Scheifele and Backlund's comments). It turned me off of MSL back in the day.

But for an entitled guy like Fox it's par for the course.

A real shame is NMC just kicked in or they could have really shipped him wherever

IMO if a player demands a trade the NTC should be considered waived. Though that would be easy to avoid through weasel words in the "demand".

Barkov not being in these olympics is incredibly frustrating. This could be the best team Finland can ice in quite a while, as the next generation isn't looking so hot and most of these top guys are starting to exit their prime years soon.

Goaltending looking the worst it's been this century, as none of our top guys are having good years, and the defense is "fine I guess". This is also the first major tournament in a long time where I feel our coaching is likely to be a disadvantage.

Who knows how it plays out. Very low expectations.

Canada with another gold is already obvious at this point.

He's easily better both offensively and defensively than Keller if you just have to pick just one name to replace on the US roster.
Robertson is considerably slower than those guys. Boldy and Connor also kill penalties.

Their Umlaut-per-player ratio is absolutely insane...the training staff that have to namebar jerseys are going to need special shipments of Aquavit just to de-stress.

Or they'll bring a Finnish granny along with them and her sole purpose is to stitch on Umlauts.

I can’t decide if I should be laughing at Adam Fox for being snubbed or laughing at team USA for their strange picks. Robertson is a bigger snub though. You can ask any player to play defensively but you need scorers to win.

At least when Canada makes a questionable choice it can be justified by them winning most tournaments. Not sure how the USA can justify their picks.

Will Andersson be the only Flame at the Olympics? Pospisil and maybe Honzek would be there if not injured. Can Klapka made the Czech team?

Don’t know how to make the tweet show on my post but it says

Oilers forward Trent Frederic has been left off Team USA for this upcoming Olympics

He has 1 goal and 2 assists in 40 games this year.

Devin Cooley didn't make team USA either, which is just as noteworthy.

I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere else, but Bennett apparently hasn't been asked to be an Olympic backup either:

Quote:
Now in fairness, Bennett isn’t the only 4 Nations player to not get an Olympic invitation. Forwards Seth Jarvis and Travis Konecny were also left off the Olympic team. Their omissions were not as drastic as that of Mark Scheifele, the fourth leading Canadian scorer in the NHL who has agreed to be an injury fill-in if need be. Jarvis has also agreed to play the fill-in part, as has young Connor Bedard.

Another snub: Bennett wasn’t asked.
