Despite the long epilogue I thought that ended as well as I could expect, stuck the landing much better than many other shows have.

Agreed.
Great show. Great ending. All you can really ask for from a tv series.
Glad we got the opportunity to enjoy it.

Final 40mins really dragged in the finale but thought it was a good finish after a shaky second to last episode.

That was ok, not bad... but about what you'd expect going into the season.

I'm ok with the dragged out character goodbyes.
We have been watching these kids for 10 years and as a show that played on nostalgia and childhood friendships, it worked for me.
The story for the season was weak but all in all, one of my favorite series of the past decade.

Final 40 minutes should have been cut.
Complete waste of time

I'm pretty satisfied with how things wrapped up. Not an all time, greatest ever finish. But it gets the job done. Solid end for an uneven series that I think will largely be remembered fondly over time.

Yup. Pretty much my sentiments exactly.
I'll still nitpick because thats what I do, its kind of a hobby, but...as much as I was loathe to just overload on new characters 'Dips##t Derek' was a great comic foil for this season. The character and the actor nailed it.

Very safe finale (last 2 episodes really)
3:30 hrs for those 2 episodes and probably an hr of good TV and 2.5 hours of failed emotional scenes that just didn’t land and were not needed
I think they needed a few more character deaths . It also would had made the last 40 mins hit harder . It kind of felt like filler
I did love the DnD ending / last 10 mins
It was fine . A bit disappointing just because this show didn’t play it safe historically and then I felt like they kind of wussed out in the final 2 episodes

I enjoyed it. It’s so hard for series to stick the landing but they did a good job
But didn’t they all just straight up murder a bunch of soldiers
At least Nancy did and it didn’t phase her. Psycho

So we never wrap up the 'Barb' storyline? We're just supposed to forget about Barb? Her name wasn't even on the statue of the lost.
Like Barb just never existed? We're just glossing over that?
1/10. /Sarcasm

I don’t get this. The final 40 minutes of them telling you what happened and how they grew wrapped up the characters nicely. This show was at its best when people were just hanging out. So seems like the roof top or D&D are the show at its best.

Just watched the finale. That was pretty damn terrific. I thought it wrapped up the story perfectly.

I found it rather satisfying as well. Definitely got some 'Return of the King' vibes where nobody could know or understand what they'd been through.

Thought it was pretty good.
The ONLY thing I think could have made it a tiny bit more compelling was to lose / off a character or two in the final fight. Raise the stakes a bit. Like, kill off Max or Holly or Mike something.
I mean in the end, this crazy powerful sorcerer who can move planets and is one with the hive mind was kinda not that tough or powerful. He couldn’t even outrun children.
