Yeah exactly. There’s also the potential KK works better here too.
If the Flames can pull KK and a 1st in a Coleman deal? There’s nothing but potential upside in a move like that. I’d be happy to see that come in

Doc Brown getting younger (rejuvenated) => The Flames getting younger (trading vets)
So I would look at the football as being "the trade". Michigan had the ball and got destroyed by Carolina. It is now Carolina's ball.
I'm still hoping for jaws or a Duck or something to come eat something from Carolina.

Okay fine, Kotkaniemi, Ryabkin and a pick. Make it happen.

The Eastern conference playoff race remains crazy.
Every team above a .524 right now, 4th place is .608 and 16th is .524 which is only a 14 point difference over the course of the season and about a 5 or 6 point gap right now.
Last place in the east would be 8th in the west right now.
These teams in the East are going to want to start making moves.

I would be shocked (pleasently) to see any big names but Rasmus moved now.
We're battling for a wildcard again.

I could see this being the case as well. Not that Conroy won’t trade Coleman or Kadri… I could just see the asking prices being so high that no teams will pay them. Conroy will be very unmotivated to trade Coleman or Kadri so a team will have to really overpay to convince him to pull the trigger.

The price should be high with how they are playing. Hopefully they bring back some solid returns if teams pony up.

Even dealing Andersson is likely delayed as the Flames have played themselves into a 10 way battle for a wildcard spot. I understand holding him as long as you can, but there comes a point where they will lose leverage with other teams as the team may be pressed to make a rash decision as the deadline approaches.
The next two weeks likely represent the peak market for Andersson, and I wouldn’t be so sure they’ll move him in that window. I would imagine Conroy and company likely believe teams will grow desperate at the deadline, but more likely suitors will begin to fill needs with other players and any demand for Andersson will be diluted.
With the team in the mix (albeit a large mix) I’d be confident the league knows it will take a solid+ offer to move Andersson, but post Olympics who knows what the trade market looks like, or what the Flame’s motives might be.
If there is a move in the next 10 days, expect to be pleased with the return, beyond that I wouldn’t be surprised if he return less than Hanifan did.

I don't think they being closer to a playoff spot changes anything with Andersson.
I do worry it will make them less willing to move Coleman or Kadri, who are just as important to move this year IMO due to age and contract status to maximize value.

Hope you’re right, but I would imagine many in the ranks are concerned about what happens to the trajectory when Andersson is jettisoned.
If the team were 5 games under .500 I’d feel confident Andersson would be wearing another jersey soon, it’s a tougher sell when the post season is a possibility as opposed to a dream.

Buffalo has won 9 in a row. Makes you wonder if they make a panic trade to push themselves further into playoff contention. You know their fan base wants it so bad and would pony up top end prospect(s) to make it happen, imo.
