On that note, someone recently posted that McDavid was the best player in the tourney, in his draft year - that is not how I remember it. Anyone know the stats from that year?

Tied with Reinhart and Petan for the tournament lead that year.

Stats were pretty tight at the top, but Domi-Reinhart-Duclair was the #1 line (Petan-McDavid-Lazar was the other go-to line). Domi was named top forward and it's basically where all the hype around him really got going even though he didn't have the most points.


McDavid had a good tournament (a notably good tournament for a 17 year old on Team Canada to that point), but I certainly wouldn't have called him the best player.
