I love the pacing. It fits the narrative, probably. What do your days look like when you are the only 'real' person in your world.
It's not for me in that I am not a person that thinks Vince Gilligan can do no wrong so I simply can't ignore how slow and drawn out it is. That said I have watched several episodes and will probably finish it because there's just enough to keep me watching so far as I hope for more to happen. Incomplete review for now I suppose.

You can paint the same picture without drawing out the pacing.

There weren't a lot of layers going on to justify it.

The finale was great in large part because of how it moved and the meaningful revelations they packed into it that made it worthwhile.

Some of those middle episodes could be cut out entirely and the audience would be no less the wiser connecting the dots.

Maybe Gilligan is employing slot machine logic. Intersperse goodies randomly with stretches of "atmosphere" sequences in between them, making every scant bit of plot progression that much more satisfying, driving commitment to the series.

In a way, he's making his audience work for the payoff, which he has done on previous shows too. Not even knocking it - it's part of captivating storytelling. But I think he may have got a little carried away this time.

I just don’t find most of it captivating. I’ve turned off several episodes half way through, which is a bad sign for me compared to many other series that I binged obsessively. Initial comments that it’s like Severance are way off the mark.

If you turned them off half way through, how the hell would you know what is going on?

First time in this thread. Surprised by a lot of the reaction in here. I couldn't wait for a new episode to come out and would always watch within the first couple of hours that I got the notification.

I absolutely loved this first season. Yes, it was slow, but slow isn't always bad and certainly wasn't the case for me when watching this one.

I loved exploring this world and wondering how I would react/handle the situations Carol was in. What would be missed, but what are the advantages? I loved watching all the episodes unfold.

Not heavy on story obviously, but also not a bad thing either. Great performances/the show is great to look at .

I'll be ready for S2, whenever that is.

I'll go out on a limb and say Albuquerque, New Mexico...

Remember the pre-streaming years when most TV series aired fall to spring annually with ~24 episodes per season?

Now we have movie sized budgets to get a 7-10 episode season every 2-3 years.

Maybe it's just me, but I feel like something is off about that.

Zosia means doppelganger.

The story could be a sequel to the Twilight Zone episode Third from the Sun.

Zosia is a Polish diminutive name meaning "wisdom," derived from the Greek name Sophia (Σοφία)?

They were mostly filmed in studios with re-usable sets, a formulaic plot they'd repeat each week, with a couple location shots nearby an episode.

All the places Pluribus was filmed:

Lots in the Canary Islands, and they built that whole cul de sac in the middle of nowhere just for the show.

Also don't forget the scenes on Kepler 22B next season.

Just caught up. Great show. Was hooked from the first episode with the reverse apocalypse scene with everyone putting out fires and rebuilding.

The last episode was excellent. I’m still unnerved by the opening scene in Peru with that entire village and culture just ending. I liked the reveal at the end with Carol willing to go mutually assured destruction and the set up for the two most stubborn people having to save the world.

Don’t get the pace comments unless that just means there is no action. I thought it was very engaging and does a good job keeping the reveals coming. I do enjoy long cinematographic shots though. That road trip to Colombia scene was beautiful.

The show is full of metaphor. When Manousos is journeying to meet Carol, his English practice is prophecy. He a prophet for the future. Carol is a prophet of what happened. What happens in her books is what happened on the show. 8613 - 13 unjoined. 12 until they found Manousos. But how was he found? Was he joined, then unjoined somehow. Reborn? Hey just like the last supper and those bros around the table. 86 - slang to get rid of something.
