I wouldn't deal with Vegas in any fashion. Flames should want Vegas to suffer and miss the playoffs and should actively be working to aid the Pacific teams they're in direct competition with for available playoff spots.

Cant say I’m against this decision. Putting him in a system like Cameron’s will only be good for his defensive game.

1) I would be very surprised if he is sent back to junior
2) if he is sent back, it is almost a certainty that he would be traded
3) if that is the case, the Flames would want to know where, before sending him, and Cameron's team would be the absolute last place they would agree to, IMO

Craig was very much on his phone.
Rasmus definitely had a different vibe, not as punctual out there as normal, not joking around as much as he normally would. Also left the ice first maybe 5-6 minutes before other guys.
Though all the guys were very happy to fist bump the kids after practice, even signed a few autographs etc.
Flames also had their EBUG out there, between that and Craig wondering why Wolf was out there id wager he was probably supposed to have the day off after the game last night.
Saw them setting up the media backdrop so maybe we’ll hear about it more from post practice interviews.

I’m really interested to see if/when Andersson is traded what the return will be. I assume there has been, or will be, some permission granted for discussion to try and extend to his new destination?
That would certainly increase the return.

Right decision but really too bad the flames played him in that one extra game. Team loses a year of control and probably millions of dollars in cap space for that down the road

Trade to the 67s would probably be the worst thing for him. Saginaw is at the bottom of the league and will probably be done by mid march. If I am the Flames I would prefer to send him to the wranglers for that conditioning stint and then see how he does. Then at least in March with Saginaw done the option to send him to the wranglers opens up, who will have around 10 games left.

Or a much more team friendly contract out of ELC since he won’t have broken out yet offensively most likely

They don't lose a year of control unless he has been on the roster for 40 games.
His ELC kicking in this season rather than sliding one more year means his contract will expire in 2028 rather than 2029, and he could sign an extension as early as July 2027.
In theory, signing his second contract one year earlier could end up being a difference of a few million dollars on his second contract if it takes him a few more years to hit his NHL groove.

That's great I thought the year of control and the year of the elc were both burned when he played that 11th game. Great to know its just the elc and not the control.

It’s been said numerous times before but it’s a massive disservice to parekh that he couldn’t play on the Wranglers this year. Sort of a wasted year for him.

Wasted year is a bit of an overstatement. His injury was definitely a problem but anyone who was expecting him to step into the NHL, play a full season, and immediately dominate as a 19 year old D man was really setting themselves up for disappointment.
Most 19 year old D good enough to make the NHL only play half of a season in their rookie year as they start adjusting to the speed and size of the NHL.
Parekh might have been better served by a season on the Wranglers but I think once Andersson is traded he can split duty on the third pair with Pachal, keep training with the Flames staff, and get up to speed (and strength) to move up the depth chart.

Wonder if Rasmus different vibe is from being told he won’t be traded to a team he is interested in because they don’t have the pieces to make the trade. Something like Vegas.
Just a pure guess on my part.

Dont really know a lot about Zamula, but Hanley is about to turn 35 and he has a career high of 9 points. If you have a chance to get a younger guy who can move the needle he should be in the press box faster than you can blink. He's a nice story but personally I dont see him ever really impacting play a lot when i watch. I think his calling card is being calm and not making dumb mistakes, which is valuable to an extent but he will be long gone when the flames have a good team again.
If parekh goes to junior and ras gets dealt the flames will definately have ice time for another d man unless Bean is coming back soon which is doesnt sound like.
