The Lions had three more turnovers than the Vikings had in total passing yards.

Lions window now firmly shut. Mentioned this last year, most teams get a year or two legit shot at the SB before that success leads to teams getting split apart and losing some of the intangibles that had been built up for those runs.
Goff gets paid almost 3x more. Other players will want more based on the last couple year of success.
Coordinators gone.
All of those contribute to not winning those tight games that are in limbo during the regular season that get you home playoff games which get you to championship games.

A little over the top to say the Lions window is firmly shut, they are having a classic season of being on the wrong side of one score games (2-6). But they have tough decisions to make to keep it going, they had a window with a surplus of picks and cap space and now that has dried up. Need good management to stay in contender status.

Nah, take it from a Seahawks fan. 2014 2015 was their window. Then Russ’ pro deal kicked in after the SB loss and suddenly the team had $25mm less of cap space to sign those various peices (starter or depth) to be the subtle difference makers.
Guys like Earl Thomas started low key grumbling about money.
Seahawks window was done. They played ok the next year but had some losses in the season they wouldn’t have had the previous years, and didn’t win the division or get the home field advantage, which was key to their playoff success the previous two years. They squeaked through the wild card round thanks to the missed chip shot outside in Minnesota and then spotted Newton a big lead in Carolina in the divisional and almost came back.
The next year, a wild card win again but no match in the divisional.
And this was with a solid coach and solid GM and the continuance of the coordinators. It was a team who managed cap space and wasn’t afraid of cutting players past their prime. But the cap space that was taken up by Wilson and others after their back to back SB appearances hamstrung the team.
Goff now chewing up $55M in cap space is going to leave a bunch more holes in the roster, even if the teams gets that down a bit in the offseason.

Seahawks window with Russ was on a poverty rookie contract. Goff has had cap hits near or above $30 million most of his time in Detroit, and his cap number next year is not really relevant when there a half dozen ways to bring that cap number down by half or more. The bigger issue is a fair few of their best performers the last few years were on poverty rookie deals and now those are coming due for extensions. Like I said, tough decisions ahead, but if managed well they will be fine.

You guys are basically saying the same thing. They’re not quite good enough now and the tough decisions are likely to make them worse unless they get some luck in the draft. They’ll be fine but it’s likely to be a competitive division for a while too.

The Texans/Chargers final 2 minutes of the half was the most hilarious one I've seen maybe ever.

Feels like the Chargers kinda suck, but Herbert is literally carrying them when he has to fight off 2-3 pass rushers every drop back, yet is still making plays.

Texans offense is unwatchable.
I know they had a couple big play scores on first 2 possessions, but they have been brutal since.

Game of the day obviously this Giants-Raiders tankfest. I'm hopeful we can get something like a 0-0, 2-0, 4-2, but I'm dreaming big of the scorigami to end all scorigamis: a 6-1 score. So how is a 6-1 possible? Well, it would take one of the teams scoring a touchdown, but on the PAT the defense scores a safety, which is worth one point. But why dream if you don't want to dream big?

Me locked in and emotionally invested in a game where they're a combined 8-22 has me questioning my current mental health state.

Bryce Young rocking a cool 7/14 for 16 yards and the Panthers are tied. NFL football is so good right now.
