Katz again using 50/50 cash to buy the Oilers another $1.2MM in cap space. Zero chance Tomasek didn’t get side cash to terminate the deal…..what a joke.
You mean it's unusual for someone to walk away from 1.2 million dollars?
I would definitely wager some money exchanged hands behind closed doors. It's ok though, there won't be an investigation.
I posted in the game thread but these are the two leaders that they have.
One gives up the puck and doesn't care to put in effort to skate back. The other stands there and shakes his head is disgust as another player gets their stick lifted, also no effort to skate back. They both can't even be bothered to care or help on a 3-on-2 the other way, gives up the losing goal. Coleman outraces McDavid "the fastest skater in the league" to score the goal.

Not a single stride in their own zone. Both McDavid and Pissy.

The World Ends when you're dead. Until then, you've got more punishment in store. - Flames Fans
If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
I actually don’t mind, Robert. He calls it as he sees it.
“ Two of Calgary’s tougher guys, Adam Klapka and Ryan Lomberg, made it clear before the game even started that Edmonton was going to be in for a long night. Klapka skated several strides over the red line and into Oilers territory during the pre-game warm-up, which is basically saying ‘I have zero respect for your team’s ability to respond, so I’m going to do whatever I want.“
McDavid with 26 minutes of ice time. Drai with 24. They are such a garbage smoke & mirrors, one-dimensional team. It’s embarrassing how much the SN crew routinely gobbles their knobs, when I’m sure that they all know how bad the Oilers really are. They’re just not allowed to say it.
The Flames played a strong, committed team game tonight and exposed the Oilers for exactly what they are: a pathetic two man team with zero depth and piss-poor leadership who rely mostly on diving and cheating their way to McPPs to score goals. Just shows that if a team rolls all 4 lines and puts in a decent effort against these losers, you can beat them any night of the week.
Edmonton = no good.

The last 2 games between these two teams have really illustrated to me that if the team that is playing the Oilers bothers to actually show up for the game, they stand a very solid chance of winning.
SO MANY teams 'lay down' for the Oilers, even through the playoffs, and it's so, so frustrating to see. They are such a bad team, but the other teams refuse to play hard against them.

Most of us have played organized sports whether its hockey or something else. Most of us have played for a team that has players that the coach favors and gives the most or best time to, whether its the coaches son and his buddies son, or just players that he knows.
So you as a player end up not getting pp time or penalty killing time. of offensive zone starts or whatever. How soon does your give a pit factor carry you? Especially when those two star players shake their head in disgust if you make a mistake, meanwhile they clearly don't give a crap about defense and are openly lazy about it and the coach rewards them with more ice time.
At that point your give a spit collapses, you go out and do the bare minimum because it doesn't matter and you play for the post game pizza (Paycheck) and look forward to next year when you can try to get on a team not coached by the stars daddy.

This won't suprise anyone, but among forwards McDavid leads the league when it comes to 5 on 5 on ice goals against this year with 34.
Now you're probably thinking he plays a lot which isn't a fair comparison (which is true but never considered when they talk about his points). When it comes to GA/60 he's 80/479 forwards playing more than 60 mins this season with 3.1 GA/60, or in others words a 4th liner by defensive metrics.
For comparison, MacKinnon is 445/479 with 1.41 GA/60. MacKinnon scores 5 on 5 goals at a 4:1 ratio, while McDavid is ~1:1.

But McDavid is the best player in the world, don’t you remember…….
No Oiler player challenged Adam Klapka (sort of understandable given his size) nor did they challenge Ryan Lomberg (probably the smallest guy on the ice).
Both ran roughshod over the Oilers.
