It would definitely change the demographics of her audience.

Flames end up with McKenna or Stenberg (or the pick equivalent). Would you trade either one of them for Tij?

Lol no
McKenna put up 2.3 points per game in the WHL in a season where he was 16 for the first half of it.
Tij is currently 19 and is putting up 1.58 points per game in the same league.

I wouldnt, but i also wouldn't be shocked if Tij ends up being the best of the bunch at the NHL level.

I wouldnt but its not a crazy question. Ive watched iginla play a lot in kelowna and hes a very good player. But I have watched a lot of players come through here and he doesn't have the same degree of separation from the rest of the league as some past players like benn, draisaitl or even cristall. I think he'll be an nhl all star some seasons if he plays with good players as his finishing is good and he has gotten a little less perimeter but I dont see him being "the" guy on a team personally. He's just not as talented as some other players ive seen at this level. But could be wrong as he is very confident and determined which goes a long way to improving long run

Which pick is the intersection where the Flames and Mammoth would both agree to that trade?

I would not worry too much about it. I think Iginla’s value is highest on this board for anywhere in the hockey community so it would be astronomical.

Who is worrying? How about a discussion about it if posters are interested in one?

Or we can also be fans of other players because we like the way they play. I'd give up the fantasy of trading for him but getting over the "attachment"? A little condescending to be honest.

Out of all the trades CC has made so far, shipping out vets, by far the beat prospect we have gotten is Brz.
Hes was a really great piece ut he wasn't a bonafide blue chip prospects like Hage or Iginla. He was a 3rd rounder that just had a really good d+1 year.
I would expect the prospects we receive back in any deals for Rasmus or Kadri (if it happens) to be of a similar caliber. Good prospects but not the bonafide blue chipper.

One of Kadri or Coleman realizing they're being moved? Their time as a Flame is over? Could be Ras too I suppose but his case sounds too certain he's gone for the quotes above (if from a player).

I look forward to the next 15 years of Flames fans trying to trade for Tij Iginla

Worrying was the wrong word to use. In general, the 6-8th best players in a recent draft don’t get traded but it does happen occasionally. Minnesota just threw a player in the Hughes trade that was drafted in the same draft as a Iginla and might be better than him. The Flames picked a player in the same draft who I think will be better than him. But on this board it would require a huge return, probably would for Utah as well given that he was their first ever pick.
Utah did trade their 11th overall pick from the 2022 draft, plus a bunch of other assets in 2024 for Sergachev so for me the right answer is Iginla is added to other assets to get a top dman under contract or a top forward under contract. That seems to be what happens with those types of players.
Probably a trade like Iginla + + for a good player under contract is how a guy like that gets moved.
