I thought it would be appropriate to give what was once a thing of beauty a proper send off...

Goodbye 1 Million Posts...I think we all had some pretty good times with you...It was sad to see you go, but I guess the Mods (curse them and all associated with them)....j/k....thought it was time to let you go...We had a good time bud. CalgaryPuck just won't be the same without you...we were so close to fulfilling your dream too...only about 999,000 more posts, and we'd have been there...

...it's tough to see you taken from us so early in life...

You will be missed

P.S.---HOOT (i think it was you)...you promised to make a synopsis (i think that's the right word) of the thread...you're welcome to do it in here...nudge nudge, wink wink

The goal wasn't to get 1,000,000 posts in that thread, it was to get it on the entire forum total. I think some misunderstood that.

the goal was originally to get a mil in the entire forum, but after a while people realized that it was already over that, if you counted from the inauguaration of cp.com...so then the goal became to get a million in one thread

Well....maybe the mods could post here why they would close it after 1700+ posts...yet they never said a word before that...in fact some of them participated.

I'm still confused...as there is no rule against having a chat like conversation that was very entertaining.

In my opinion, that thread was a little too much like that other forum. If throwing out sexual innuendos on the internet to get attention from the guys is your thing, that's fine... but I think this forum is a lot better than that. Just my opinion though.

It seems silly to lock a thread that was little more than harmless fun in the Off Topic thread without at least a prior warning so the participants could make it less offensive to the powers that be.

I mean it's summertime folks, there's no hockey to discuss really, the Stamps haven't been much of a diversion......why does the OT forum have to take itself so seriously all the time????

O well, goodbye 1,000,000 post thread - I'll miss the distraction you provided......

Heh, it was fun while it lasted but it was going downhill, and whichever mod did it probably wanted it to go out on top of its game, rather than just going into oblivion. There'll be other threads. OT is all useless stuff, no need to limit it to one thread.

EDIT: And while getting to 1 million is a noble goal, it'll come in its time, no need to artifically inflate post counts to do it.

Lol if the whole OT forum gets locked, it will be the least of your concerns. It means all the mods will have been infected by that virus in that new movie with what's her face where everyone is all emotionless and you can't sleep. You know, Tom Cruise's ex. What the heck is her name.

I guess. Personally I think we should have a section for that kind of dicussions...some sort of chit-chat forum. But thanks for the explanation.
