They didn’t. Vegas is a bottom feeder minus all of their injured players.

Eight more years of this ahead.

Everyone who saw him play saw this coming when he was signed to that ridiculous contract.

Maybe we are looking at this all wrong.

Maybe we should say that it’s great that the oilers have given him 8 years to learn how to play hockey in the NHL. No problem to take some time off early on!

Notice the officials generate 8 total penalties worth of special teams compared to 2 against Calgary. That is how they are getting them over the top. One of the worst 5 v 5 teams aren’t going to win a game without at least 10-15 minutes of special teams.

Then the Flames better be VERY sure to stay out of the box in the next two games!

The Oilers do not deserve McDavid. He is carrying them again lately.

It is so annoying that they don't even have a good team, but are always a threat to win because of McDavid and how bad the Pacific is.

I hope they make the playoffs. They won't get out of the West this season. And then there's no chance of them winning the draft lottery.

It's an atrocious supporting cast that get carried by a couple guys every year. The team's strategy leans on milking calls out of pedestrian plays. Nothing's changed for years now, and the twins are no more responsible than they were before.

How much longer that circus show remains effective depends on how much longer the golden pigs can keep elevating to drag the rest through the mud.

I'm surprised actually with how much hockey they played. It didn't look like they had it this year to pull it off again. But McSniffles saw MacKinnon dominating the stats race and took that personally I guess and decided to pull up his bootstraps.

McDavid has 62 points in 37 games and is even. He has 33 even strength points.
MacKinnon has 61 points in 35 games and is +45(!!!). He has 46 even strength points.

One of these players absolutely controls the play when he's on the ice, the other just trades high danger chances and leaves his team no further ahead. Until the PP that is.

WC against Colorado would be best

I've been clamoring for that Edmonton-Colorado matchup since the last time it happened.

The coilers path in both SCFs was pretty similar.

And unfortunately Dallas has had Colorado's number, while Edmonton had Dallas' number (not sure they would this year), and twice it shook out the same way.

The Avs have superstars who elevate all the same, but also play a better all around game. Better goalies, better depth. They took a little dip because of injuries and the Nichuskin debacle but it looks like the cup caliber team is back now.

I want to see them meet and the Oilers get absolutely caved in. Four straight "we want ten" games. No room for doubt.

Great post! McDavid's point totals this season are impressive, especially as of late, however it is a mirage fooling those who adjudge players by points rather than overall play: goal differential is what really matters. McDavid has completely abandoned any thought of defence this year - even more so than years previous.

I mean for all of the tanker fans, wouldn't it be better if the Flames absolutely gooned it up in the head to head.

You know swipe McDavid's purse. Throw some saurkraut in Draisaitl's eyes while spearing him in the German netherregions.

Growling like a mad dog at RNH before launching him into the stands.

Seeing Cooley scream "We're all going to die anyways" as he bolts down the ice to jump on Jean Luc Picard?

Having Anderson grabbing hold of Bouchard and yelling stop hitting yourself while punching Bouchard with his own fist.

That's what we want right?

One is a PP specialist that cares most about stats padding

The other is an all around beast who stats pads because he cares about winning.

We need Colorado to beat Dallas, the stars are like the Kings when they play McDavid.

The Oilers feast on the bad playoff teams who crumble when games matter. Vegas or Colorado or Minnesota are the best chances.

Yeah, either of Minnesota or Colorado would do. Unlike Dallas those teams don't shrink when they come up against Bumonton. DeBoer has to be one of the most overrated coaches out there. The guy completely wilted behind the bench with two chances at a SCF appearance going up against two players and a no name coach and a huge goaltending advantage.

I hope Dallas chokes this year so we can get a true challenger out of the central. The WC has no business being the cake walk it has been for two years.

Minny and Colorado yeah. I believe the wild to the oilers were the ducks (Getzlaf era) to the flames. Oilers cannot beat them at all.
