They both posted right around the same time that Sec posted as well. The only posts that do not have captions on their Instagram.
Who would be able to afford both in a trade?

Pretty random insta posts by both of them. Maybe just a dump of images from the last month or so?
Moving both of those guys in one deal would have to bring back something very exciting as far as young players and/or picks, but not expecting anything at this point, hard to believe the flames would finally pull the trigger on a deal after nothing for so long, on the back of this hot streak they are in the middle of and during a roster freeze no less. There have been lots of posts by Sec over the last year or two without a deal, which are always fun to speculate on, but not expecting anything big at this moment.
Be amazing if the Flames finally did move some vets and lean in to a youth movement even more though! Coleman is probably worth a late first and Kadri as a, almost PPG center would be worth a massive haul even at his age you'd think.... he's a great 2C for a stanley cup contender.

They are trolling for sure. Why else would they both do the same post at the same time?

More to the point, they have young Cs that they can dangle that would meet Conroy's price.
Draft capital is great and all but if you trade with a team and they make the playoffs then you are picking in the 20s. That isn't really the pick we need to move the needle on the rebuild and recent drafts demonstrate that trading up isn't really a thing. Landing a confirmed high potential young C would be the best thing for the Flames.
The Sharks nabbing all three would be intriguing because I would bet that none of their trade protection would be pointed at the Sharks because they have been in the basement for so long. It would be a huge move this season as the Pacific is looking ripe for the taking with all 4 teams above the Sharks still in striking distance.
The return to the Flames would have to be huge to send 3 of your best players, with term, to a division rival. Bonus points to the Flames if the Sharks can knock Vegas out.
So, it's probably not that... but what a fun thought.

It’s just not the right time to shell out an extension for RA. If we don’t trade him, then I hope we deal both Kadri and Coleman AT MINIMUM.
I think the demand for Kadri or Coleman could very well happen when you’ve got the Olympics coming up. Assuming the NHL players get to represent their respective countries, it’s almost certain someone will get injured. Happens all the time.

Interesting take with option a.
Signing Andersson and moving Weegar. Would make sense this year. Not last year though.

It was very specifically the St. Louis series after he ran Binnington [multiple times?].
Only places you could argue he's faced that is Boston and St. Louis.
Unless I'm wrong and you have specific examples, in which case I'm sorry

Draft Pick
|
Wondering if a "blockbuster" deal that involves a combo of Coleman, Kadri, or Andersson could be more of a hockey trade than picks and prospects. I'm thinking about teams that have 22-26 year old established players that need a change of scenery or are up for big paydays, or GM's that need to make a big move to shake things up.
Buffalo (Power), Dallas (Robertson), Toronto (Nylander - full NM but has fallen out of favor with Berube). I am sure there are more.
I would prefer picks and high end prospects, but could totally see the Flames brass going this route.

At some point they are going to need roster players. They have tons of picks. They would probably all be 5 years away from helping in the NHL. They have a bunch of their young players now.
I’m betting trades for the remaining covetted vets probably would involve a pick, a roster player and a prospect in return.

Could there be a link as to why Buffalo didn’t loan Konsta Helenius to the WJ? I know it’s not an exciting place but Buffalo is also on the border. Jarmo is likely looking to make a splash. Kadri could have his family live in Ontario and he wouldn’t be far away. Coleman I’m not sure would love it there but maybe those two vets move the needle to get the culture fixed?
Power and Helenius deal would be a fun one for Calgary…
