Kings trade Danault to Habs for 2026 2nd
The 2026 2nd was acquired from Columbus with Laine for Jordan Harris.

Maybe LA could be a landing spot for Kadri now.

Right before the holiday freeze. One less option to trade Kadri to now.

Well if the flames are to trade Kadri, the price should be very nice if a struggling Danault gets a 2nd

The Kings have north $7M in cap-space now.
…and we know Conroy has had trade conversations with LA, and LA is rumoured to be trying to add.
Edit - they now have $9.2M in cap-space

Yeah kadris a first and a b prospect at least.
Should be a Lindholm type return, hes the best center on the market if you want to go for a cup.
I still don’t see a way he doesn’t end up with Colorado. Do they have anything we’d want?

I thought he wanted to go to a contender if he is traded. That is not LA.

Yeah this isn't ideal for the Kadri market, especially considering Montreal was rumoured to be on of his preferred destinations.
Hopefully the Flames didn't miss an opportunity to strike while the iron was hot.

I figured that would be the case. Coleman and Andersson are the most likely to be traded. Maybe a guy like Hanley as well.
The Flames won't trade Kadri until they have a reasonable replacement at 1C

If the Habs can get Danault back to 0.55-0.6 PPG, then it would be a great deal for the Habs. They know him pretty well since he played there for half of his career. I'm pretty sure LAK brought Danault as soon as Bergevin(his previous GM) was hired in LA.

With Ken Holland in charge, you know that cap space is just burning a hole in his pocket

After giving Ceci $18M, Dumoulin $12M, and healthy scratch Kuzmenko $4.3M, you just know the next bad contract is going to be a Holland special in LA, especially if that's Kopitar's last season.

Like this trade. They needed centre depth with all of their injuries down the middle.

Maybe, but if he does its not because of this trade
If anything this trade increases Kadri's value

Makes sense for Montreal to add Danault cheaper than they could have got Kadri. They aren’t quite at a go all in move.

I don’t really see it as a negative. Danault has been bad and got a 2nd
