You might even say that he puts a Hurtig into the opposition.

Okay. I'll bite.
What the hell is going on with Battaglia?
Is it injury issues? No teammates/low scoring team?
Cause man. I had high hopes for the kid with the numbers he put up last year, but this year I am kinda shocked.
Can anyone shed some light?

Really bad team, lost a lot of their firepower from last year and he is snakebitten.

His team PP is also operating at a ridiculously low 12% (next lowest is 15.8%, top team is 38.2%) which doesn't help in getting points. I assume he'll be traded near the deadline to somewhere with some hopes of doing something.

The Fronts are 13th in the standings out of 20 teams (14th by win %, with a .455), and 14th in goals-for (93). They are 3-7 in their last 10.
Battaglia's 23 points puts him 2nd in team scoring behind Leafs' draft-pick C Tyler Hopkins (25 pts in 28 games), and 1 point ahead of Canucks' draft-pick C/LW Kieren Dervin (22 points in 30 games).

I’m not too worried. I would like to see him traded at some point this season, though.

Looks like Montreal got another steal with Bryce Pickford in the 3rd... 25 goals in 31 games for a defenseman. 0.8gpg he's on an absolute historic pace
