Are there any actual examples of trans athletes "endangering", or even competing, in sports in Alberta?
A certain segment of the population has really positioned this as an epidemic and an emergency. To the point that the notwithstanding cause was needed to urgently protect girls from this.
But is this actually happening? I know that this is a popular culture war front which has been spreading, but just like the "war on Christmas" (which seems to have died down a bit now that new targets have emerged), to what extent is this a thing?
It isn't, of course, and the actual numbers won't matter anyway.

*But only after we check your crotch**
**If you are a woman or a girl over 12. Boys do not need to be checked LOL.

Just the end result of liars spreading bull####. If the average Albertan supports this it's only because they have been so thoroughly deceived.
Ultimately this is about vengeance on children because adults are such cowards they can't confront their own deeply personal fears. And they can't confront them because they are entirely irrational and indefensible. That's why the NWC is used. They will do everything in their power to avoid the reality that their values make them a pretty ####ty person. A lot easier to bully kids.

I wonder how much mental damage it will be when an 11-year-old girl is accused of being a boy and has to prove she is in fact a girl. I am sure it totally won't affect them and they will thank Smith for protecting them.

99% of people wind up playing sports for exercise and fun. Somehow every parent got it in their mind that their kid is headed for the Olympics. Who gives a #### who is playing with who, or even who wins for that matter. The delusions of grandeur are pathetic.

This government has proven time and time again that they simply to not give a single #### about any regular Albertan. Yet, I'm somehow supposed to believe they all of a sudden care so much about the girls/women in sports?
Those very same girls in schools that are underfunded and crowded to the brim? Like seriously?
How do they believe their own bull####? It's incredible. I just can't fathom it.

The fact that the accuser can remain anonymous is the worst part. Some second line player can accuse a first line player of being a boy out of jealousy and get away with the accusation without any repercussions.
It is a toxic policy that can generate even more toxic behaviours and drive even worse culture wars while empathy, ethics, and accountability are thrown away.
They want everyone looking down at each other's crotches instead of looking up at the insane grifts the UCP have going on.

Really im shaking my head at what the UCP is doing
For a girl its just another barrier that they are having to jump through. Now they run the risk of being called out for genital inspections if some random adults think they look like a boy or are too successful in their sport.

That's one thing that is just awful, but a lot of this is just going to cause so much bullying and isolation. Now that the adults have declared trans people to be less than, kids will use that as a rationale, knowingly or not, to bully. And not just trans people, anyone different will be labeled trans as slander.
The entire thing is just so vile and repulsive I can't understand how anyone can look at this rationally and not oppose it with everything they can.

What is most scary is that I doubt Smith even believes most of this garbage. But she is so power hungry in her failing upward career, that she will do whatever will keep her in power. She also needs to get things like this out there as it distracts from her and her party's corruption and incompetence. Truly a psychopath.

She didnt believe in it when she was the WR leader. Made a speech in the leg about LGBTQ+ youth and possibly family member in regards to the then Prentice govt and the GSAs in Bill 10. And voted against it.
Or maybe she has no core beliefs, will just do whatever is politically expedient for herself and cares not for consistency and has the most flexible moral fiber possible.
