Soft close toilet lids should be standard everywhere and are amazing while soft close cabinets should be outlawed because they're stupid and useless. Not sure why vertical vs horizontal changes my stance on this but it does. Soft close cabinets are for suburbanites who don't know what to do with their money.

No deep reason I simply find them dumb. It's a cabinet, gravity isn't pulling it down, it's fine. Close the cabinet there's a little cushion already on there.

BLum soft close hinges are less that $10 extra for a pair.

Bang for the buck, soft close hinges are the most cost efficient kitchen upgrade.

They have them, that's cool/great, I can even schedule it to be emailed to her Christmas morning. But can I buy it without a US address attached to our credit card? Nope, cannot. ANNOYED. Tried Giftly, same deal. That grinds my gears.

Yeah. In fairness, 10,000+ posts over 17 years to scam someone out of a $50 restaurant gift card would be the world's worst return on time.
