Doesn't Buium not really want to play in Canada?

Anyway, Andersson the #1 guy on the market now?

Devils and Wild should go crazy and do Kaprizov + Faber for J. Hughes + L. Hughes

(Will never happen but it's fun and the value is close IMO)

In Strat-O-Matic hockey in the 80s I traded for all six Sutter brothers.

Really love the TSN bias though.

Headline #1 - Oilers acquire G Jarry in BLOCKBUSTER trade with Penguins
Headline #2 - Canucks trade Captain Hughes to Wild for Rossi, Ohgren, Buium and a 1st

Marty Biron on TSN gave the Oilers trade an F grade for Edmonton lol. They slammed the trade.

More so the headlines on front page, not the staff.

This is a great trade for MIN.

It's also a really good trade for VAN, all things considered. And maybe Buium turns into a star. But Hughes might be the best player VAN has ever had, and he's 26.

A for MIN, and B for VAN, IMO
I think Buium wins a Norris at some point. Considering they were going to lose Quinn for nothing, it’s already a win.

The Canucks don’t play at home for two weeks. Riot averted.

It was reported before the draft. It's in the 2024 NHL draft thread.

It'll be interesting to see what caliber of smallish 25yo left shot left winger(s) he can acquire with the Flames assets.

The pitch being 'trust me if you play in Alberta it won't be in Canada much longer!'

Honestly I think there is a chance Buium ends up being just as good as Hughes. Similar profiles in the NCAA, similar size, play a similar game.

And Vancouver got 3 assets on top of that.

There is risk involved of course but a prospect the quality of Buium is about the best you can hope for when making a deal like this.

Seravalli had a rumor that Detroit offered ASP, but the Canucks wanted Edvinsson as the center piece

Teams like Detroit, Buffalo and Jersey will never amount to anything. Always scared to act and pull the trigger.

That's pretty dumb. ASP is gonna be a stud.

TBH if I'm Detroit I'm willing to move either of those guys...although of course Edvinsson's size is intriguing
