When BBC article headlines are now routinely paralleling The Onion in absurdity, it really does make you poignantly remember that famous George Carlin quote and sigh.

“Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.”

― George Carlin

The irony is that a serif typeface is definitely more LGBTQ coded than a non-serif typeface.

Protesters interrupted Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem as she delivered her opening statement at a House hearing on worldwide threats. The protesters held signs and called for an end to Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids. [nbc]

Noem is not answering any hard questions, and blaming everything on Biden.

Rubio's predecessor Antony Blinken had adopted Calibri in 2023, saying it was more accessible for people with visual disabilities. But Rubio said this was a "wasteful" diversity move and that Times New Roman was "more formal and professional".
dear mr rubio
there are too many things to list that make the current administration unprofessional, but the font they use on documents is not one of them

Looks like Trump has started doing campaign rallies again, and they're getting even more delusional and ridiculous.

Also, a 90 minute speech? Jesus H. Christ, I can't stand listening to this jackass for even 10 seconds, let alone 90 minutes. Can't believe people actually pay money to hear this stupid crap.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/trump-...erms-9.7011094

Quote:
His speech was peppered with hyperbole: “The best 10 months ever in the history of the presidency … the biggest tax cuts ever, even bigger than the first term … the hottest country anywhere in the world … the strongest border in the history of our country.”

He spent as much time off the topic of affordability as he did on it. He laced his speech with attacks on Democrats including ex-president Joe Biden and Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar. He spoke about White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt’s lips. He complained about wind farms in Scotland and immigrants from what he called “####hole countries.”

Absent from the speech: anything empathizing with people’s financial struggles, any attempt to persuade voters that he feels their economic pain.

'Wasteful' is really amusing.

Also, solid response

I've always thought very little of Marco Rubio, to say the least. But prefering Times New Roman? What a monster.

She also got up and left, saying she had to leave early. What a circus side show. I guess after you get humiliated like she does in the clip below you'll find an excuse to get out of there.

This opinion piece by Michael Ian Black is pretty spot on.

Quote:
Taken together, this latest Trumpian screed ought to be Exhibit A in a discharge of the 25th Amendment. If he were a more stable genius, I would assume the president to be exercising a certain degree of hyperbole. I no longer make such assumptions. Scarily enough, I think Trump actually believes what he’s saying. I no longer believe he’s capable of separating reality from fantasy.

Donny Demento is slowing up. His health is bad. His brain is mush. His ego has swollen to the size of a thousand suns. He’s transformed 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue from a dignified seat of American governance to a gold-gilded ####oo’s nest of his own design. And, for some reason, most of the American establishment is still bending over backward to avoid saying the obvious: The Burger King is cooked.

Play that for all active duty service members, so they know exactly how the country has their backs when they are asked to commit illegal acts.

Reminder that for one to be embarrassed that would require one to have shame, and since these people clearly don't...

Bennie Thompson making that worm squirm in his seat made me feel pretty good inside.

"diversity" in this case means, doing the bare minimum to not be a POS.

Also, Times New Roman absolutely sucks to read on a screen. I use calibri in word (aptos defaults on Outlook). When someone gives me a doc in TNR, my initial thought is Boomer.
