I don’t think we can trust what management says, don’t think we can even trust their actions with 4 other players in similar circumstances who were UFAs at the end of the year.
It is that old saying “trust but verify but even when verified don’t trust and allege they will do the opposite”

I’m not sure if it’s the heatstroke or brain lapse but I thought it was pretty clear.
I’ll dumb it down though just so we’re crystal clear:
1. Andersson is gone - It’s not if it’s when, timing tricky for all the reasons people have highlighted. His value is going up which is great, will miss the guys swagger for sure as well. Mutual decision, leaving on good terms.
2. Kadri - controls his fate in the sense that his 13 ntc isn’t much but he’s on great terms with Craig and vice versa, Craig’s not going to send him to a dead franchise for him to play out the rest of the contract. Craig respects what he’s done for this team and his desire to rebuild here, but if trading him makes the Flames better than Kadri said he’d do what’s best for the team. There’s enough interest that I would consider him also probably moving.
3. Coleman - Few teams interested, playoff teams wanting exactly what he brings every night. Value is there, but likely the lowest percent chance to move, if he’s moved I’d bet on a homecoming in Texas for family reasons.
I think the main thing to takeaway here is that all 3 guys love the team and the city and have a connection to wanting to see it through. Speaks volumes for how Craig and ownership treat these guys, lord knows there’s not a lineup of superstars wanting to play in CGY.
I’d bet on 2/3 moving.

You were clear but it is possible that what you mean in this post is that he is gone but it could be on July 1st when he signs with somebody else and the Flames get nothing. Even this post did not specify that this possibility won’t happen. I am sure mass confusion will not ensue.

So if I get this straight, Andersson is NOT moving this year?

I have a question related to some of the things you wrote on Nov 11th, during the game against STL.

I’m interested to see how much is shown on the YouTube series, the amount of closed door “meetings” should be fun to see.

I'm only asking because I don't see much of a divide, nor does it seem that Andersson/Kadri or any of the vets have attitude issues. Obviously, winning fixes a lot of things, but I also didn't notice much animosity in the YouTube series. I'm not trying to take a shot at you with this, just trying to understand the complete 180 the team seemingly did within a couple of weeks. Because now Andersson is leaving on good terms, Kadri has a great relationship with Conroy etc.

So now that Royle has clarified is it still me that was fooling myself? Or did you just misinterpret something incorrectly, dig in your heels and consistently double down?

Technically he didn’t clarify the point that was unclear - he said he’s gone but did not specifically say traded before the trade deadline (or on the deadline day depending how you interpret trade deadline )
Is this deliberate skirting around saying he will be traded …. 2 posts now that leave the same ambiguity
Leaving as a UFA is still gone !

Really?
He literally opened it by acting surprised that people had trouble interpreting what he said and finished it with 2/3 will be gone, and you still think there's a good chance he was suggesting Andersson will walk as a UFA?
Why prey tell would you want to hang on to a worse case scenario? Even Rhett said thanks for the clarification.

Also important is how Conroy and the organization treat these players as humans as much or moreso as players. Treating players well and make them feel wanted is crucial to prospect development and free agent recruitment. Very happy to hear that Conroy is considering both the team and the player during any potential transactional discussion.

Why prey tell did you decide to take a shot at Monahammer for no reason - when the point he was making was not actually clarified (again) in Royles post .

I think it's been clear in his first and second post to a large % of the site.
If a person that tends to see the negative in things goes into a weak minority interpretation I think it's within the bounds of logic to question it.
So if you want to call that a shot ... fill your boots. No personal attack. No insults.

You have to squint very hard to try and read that as anything but he’s being traded.
