It would be ideal for the franchise if they won tonight and swept the homestand, largely for me to enjoy the schadenfreude of other fans. Go Flames Go

The Preds beat the Avs last night.

It’s weird because when I go to the games and the Flames score, almost everyone in the arena stands up and cheers, especially if they’re wearing a Flames jersey and are physically able. It’s very weird to me.

At least I know I’ll be able to come on here and surround myself with the real fans who know that scoring goals and winning game is, in fact, bad and gross.

In one fo the comments he questions Anaheim defensively but somehow jacks the Oilers up to 10. Guess he thinks Beavis and Butt-Head will lead the team to winning a bunch of 8-6 games.

Do you want to come over and watch the game? We can boo Cooley every time he makes a save and throw the remotes at the TV when the Flames score! So fun!

I am both those fans..
At the game? I’m on my feet cheering and we're going to win the cup (although this has been getting tougher and my desire to go has been wanning..)
The second the final horn blows though, the long-term outlook galaxy brain kicks in and I’m cursing the standings while binge watching the top 4 prospect highlights.

It’s the best of both worlds. Cheer in the moment, panic in the big picture. Highly recommend.

I wouldn't normally stay up too late on a Wednesday night to watch, but I will tonight to see how Hunter fares.

In the last year or so, the Flames have integrated (or at least attempted to integrate) Bahl, Parekh, Kuznetsov, and now maybe Brzustewicz into a new d-core. Pretty soon it'll just be old-man Weegar as the veteran.

That's why they call it a stupid stat

In February 2008, the Red Wings earned a 4-0 win in Colorado, then went on to Calgary and lost 1-0. In April 2013 they earned a 3-0 win in Nashville and then dropped a 3-2 decision when visiting the Flames.

They’ve slowly been building a decent young set of dmen. I would add Pachal to that mix.

I don't fault the players or coaches for any of the wins at all. I'm blaming guys like Maloney and Edwards whose message to us fans are they know better than us, and that the Flames need more Kadris, not less so the team can continue to win as much as possible with their middling talent. We don't ever want the organization to proactively trade declining players with trade value and pick high because that would mean we bottomed out. Instead, we think it's a success if the team always picks in the middle, because apparently being in the mushy middle breeds that signature consistent winning Flames culture we've seen over the past 20 years that upper management loves.

They're the ones that turned a die hard Flames fan like me into needing to cheer for losses so the Flames can be dragged kicking and screaming into a much needed rebuild.

I have PTSD from being in Florida the night the Flames went to 3 OTs versus Vancouver in game 6 (only to lose the game).

Added benefit of being upset with either outcome after the game
