One would hope not. They do not have anyone on their roster (currently) who is healthy enough to play. Well I guess Brett Rypien is.

Can Cincy not just release Flacco and let him go play for Indy! Make it happen!

If Brady didn't have that whole Raiders ownership stake thing no doubt that he'd be starting Sunday for the Colts. But yeah unless their passing game plan is to throw nothing but quick throws there's a decent chance Rivers might die with how immobile he will be against any pass rush.

From the ESPN story
Rivers is currently a semifinalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame's Class of 2026. Per the Hall of Fame, Rivers signing to the Colts' practice squad has no effect on his eligibility. However, if he signs to the Colts' active roster, his eligibility clock would reset, whether or not he takes a snap in a game, and he wouldn't be eligible again until 2031.
Maybe the NFL needs a QB EBUG

We are talking about a QB that had to be replaced for hail Mary's at the end of his career because he couldn't throw the ball further than intermediate distance. I suppose there's no worry that during retirement, he's lost arm strength that he never had at the end of his playing days. I do agree that Brady could probably come in off the street and play better than a lot of QB's in the league today. Heck he could step in and win more games for the Raiders than Geno Smith as NFL QB play overall has dropped off in recent seasons.

This Phillip Rivers thing might actually happen. I can see a fantasy football recap along these lines. "Jonathan Taylor had 6 catches on 23 targets for 16 yards vs the Seahawks. In fairness to Taylor 15 of these landed at least 2 feet short of him and all had a severe downward trajectory."

Classic uniform matchup obviously, but Bucs should've worn their white retros.

I just checked Stubhub and there are tickets available for upwards of $1500, which has to be the most anyone has ever paid to attend a public execution… on the other hand it’s probably the closest you can get to the experience of the old Roman coliseum and watching Christians getting fed to lions so maybe worth it?

Good news for the Bucs is this mega choke doesn't really matter, as long as they beat Carolina twice they win the division. But not too sure that's a likely scenario when you let Captain Kirk tear you apart.

Nice comeback, love seeing Evans throw a tantrum. That ended up being a great game, as expected from an all-NFC South matchup.
That's back to back L's at home for Bucs vs division rivals who were a combined 6-19...something is very wrong in Tampa, after looking like contenders the first half of the season.

I still haven’t wrapped my head around the “tie” on the fumble at the end of the game. That was really, really weird. Not a conspiracy guy but that was so strange that it almost makes you wonder about sports betting.

I hope gambling suspicions don't start letting ####ty officiating off the hook. No doubt there's gonna be more shadiness to consider, but also the refs would be horrible even if gambling didn't exist. Sports refusal to improve that side of things continues to be a major problem.

Agreed. Every time there is a muffed call, all of the social media comments are about sports gambling. This one was just so odd. I honestly don’t ever remember them calling a tie on a fumble recovery and the timing of it being at the very end of the game made my spidey senses tingle a little.

Glad we're all feeling this way, I've been salty about that stuff since the 2018 NFCCG No PI Call. It broke my sports fan innocence, I don't watch games the same way anymore.
Still love it obviously, but I don't live & die with my teams anymore because of it. It's just not worth it, when there's clearly shenanigans afoot.

The refs are so incompetent teams need to be able to challenge for pass interference.

Rivers is starting! The only thing that's going to limit him from having a sub 2 second release time is his ability to drop back 5 steps that fast.
